  1. Gosh! Never thought about "MIDI over USB"! Is it working ok? Does it have downsides? Pros&Cons?
  2. I got more than a dozen devices, and as of today I was using MOTU MIDI Express 128 with "software routing" done on my MacBook Pro. Then I bought 2x MP-88 because I wanted to start becoming "computer-independent" (using it only for recording/editing purposes). I love having each synth connected with both IN and OUT so that it's easy to backup/restore via SysEx. With my SEQ V4 I got 8 OUTs, 4 of which are paired with INs - I'll see what I can do. Maybe I just make 4 (or 8) separated output chains and at least one input to be able to record "live" from my master keyboard. In the end, I only need both IN&OUT with my computer (and only when I need to backup/restore). I guess I'll be fine... Thanks, F.
  3. ... I'm just thinking if I'll really need my 2 MP-88 MIDI patchbays/routers... :-o F
  4. OK guys - got it. I will simply need to rearrange my way of thinking when connecting stuff... EASY! No way that this beautiful piece of DIY work will get sold! :-) BR, Flavio.
  5. BTW: yes, I can confirm the excellent work done by =FFW=> ;-)
  6. Hi! Yes, it is that machine indeed! And yes, the ports are mapped as you see in the picture. What is confusing me, is the "non-linearity": the MIDI out ports on the left are nicely put in sequence (1-2-3-4). But then I'd expect IN1-OUT1, IN2-OUT2, IN3-OUT3, IN4-OUT4 - this is what's annoying me. Of course I can read "MIDI IO 1" and "MIDI IO 2" but then again: it makes it weird with that numbering. I could've been happy also with having 4321 instead of 1234 - just not having them "mixed up" 3412... What do you guys suggest now? F.
  7. Hi eptheca: as I'm very newbie here, can you guide me through? I wouldn't want to open up my MIDIBox to make a hardware change... Hi borfo - maybe I'm blind, but I didn't find any J11e in the page you linked... Anyway, I'd prefer not to have to open up my MIDIBox... Thanks all! Flavio.
  8. Hi there. I got a splendid SEQ V4 (built by =FFW=>) and I found out that I got the MIDI pair numbering "inverted": instead of being (from right to left, back panel) 4-3-2-1 they are 2-1-4-3 Is there any way to change the order without having to open up the case and swap cables? Thanks, Flavio.
  9. Thanks! Just got my first MIDIBox SEQ V4 and I had to just read a bit of your guide and I was able to do the first things ;-) F.
  10. Yeah sorry I could have been reading "Michigan" :-/
  11. I'm based in Switzerland/Italy, would love to buy one professionally built and with case. It has to have CV/Gate out (AOUT_NG) and 4 MIDI IN/OUTs. Of course with the newer STM32F4. I will also consider individual PCBs (already completely soldered or "bare"). Thanks for your offers! Flavio.
  12. I've just found a guy in the States, selling his V4 (with black enclosure) for a bit more than 900 Bucks. Am I getting ripped of, or is it a "fair price"? F.
  13. You're right! I'm triple based: mainly in Switzerland, but also Italy and Germany would be ok for somebody to build it for me. Or Austria as well, and France (that's where I got my Yocto from).
  14. Hi and thanks again. As of today I only soldered an ARPIE MIDI arpeggiator. It took me 2 hours and it worked from the beginning. Do you think it's feasible to solder the MIDIBox SEQ V4, or would I need more/better skills? I've found the flea market, thanks. So nobody offering their soldering skills? F.
  15. Hi EsotericLabs, thanks for your reply. I'm gonna read about the core CPU, but I guess I won't understand too much of it :-/ About the IN and OUTS, I'd say that 4 MIDI IN/OUT and 8 CVs would be pretty ok for me. Is there any case which can fit them already? I've seen that the SEQ CS PCB is sold out - do you know if that's the only source? Last but not least: where's the fleamarket you're talking about? Thanks, F.
  16. Hi there. I'm really interested in getting a V4 MIDIBox. The question is: where do I start from? I've read that you can somehow "customize" many options/parts (like MIDI IN/OUT, CV/Gate, and so on). I'd like to have a "decent" amount of MIDI OUT and a couple of CV/Gate outs... Can anybody help me in deciding? Also: is there anybody who'd be offering DIY build services? Thanks, F.
