  5. Where are you located?
  6. Your mistake is that you are only making reference to the processor's cost, when in fact you need to relate it to the overall cost of the project. Then, it will be in the lower one-digit region - if at all - and hence it's negligible.
  7. Great find!
  8. 1. If all of the cathodes in dmitri's schematic connect to a common pin and the other technical parameters are the same then yes. 2. The USB port should always give you 5V, so why would you expect VCC to be 4V? 3. No, and in single quantities the difference in cost is negligible. 4. Not me, sorry!
  9. Yes. Take a look at the data sheet of the switch first, and see what the three terminals are for. Honestly, judging from the type of questions you are asking, it seems like you should not work on this yourself...
  10. No, you would need a USB host with proper drivers to use this device. LPC17 under MIOS does not act as USB host - you can see that already from the connector that is used. In order to use the SD slot part of your device, you would have to destroy it - cut the traces on the PCB that run to the SD card connector/slot and solder your own connection/cable there. Honestly, I would not do that though, the risk of not getting a proper solder joint when connecting to PCB traces is too high.
  11. Tim aka SmashTV has them in his US shop. If you go to the low order value page shipping costs are very reasonable, too.
  12. No, you'll have to build it yourself. But you will surely get enough support here to finish the project yourself even if you are a beginner. Look here (scroll down to the bottom of the page) for ready-to-solder PCBs and complete kits.
  13. Yes, no problem at all! It's very simple and straightforward, look at the examples for the 8bit Core module, e.g CC to NRPN conversion.
  14. As a general rule of thumb, when something does not work it's a good idea to update to the latest version before attempting to troubleshoot. Chances are the problem has been fixed already. Outdated versions are usually never supported longer, as this would create a lot of overhead for the developer.

    MIDIO128 V3

This is easy to implement - after all, you've built the thing yourself, so you can use any connector you want. The one in the picture for example is what I use.
  17. True, this seems to be correct. I was suspecting that the backlight pins might be located on the opposite side of the DIL connector - I have a few displays for which the A nd K pins are not part of the DIL connector, but obviously (from looking at the data sheet) this is not the case here. Edit: From the picture above I see that you are not using an external power supply but a USB port for power. Try disconnecting one of the displays and see if that makes the remaining backlight brighter and solves your SD card issues... According to the datasheet each display backlight consumes 120mA.
  19. No problem, I'll fill my suitcase with other stuff instead :flowers:. In the state the project is in I'd consider it as "components" which *I* would get cheaper elsewhere (apart from the SIDs which I would not necessarily need). However, it may be attractive to some as all components needed are actually included.
  20. Is the backlight current actually fed through the DIL connector terminals, or does this LCD provide/require separate terminals ([K]athode and [A]node) for the backlight?
  21. Hehe, that would be a good price with case and faceplate... I'm out.
  22. How much are you asking? I'll be traveling to the US end of next week and might be interested! Best, ilmenator
  24. Have your TD-3 send a C5 note??!!!
  25. Is a "stop" the equivalent of a "key" on the keyboard?
