Referring to this:
Here some quick snapshots, how the MBLC emulation looks on the MIDIbox SEQ hardware.
8 encoders are used as "V-Pots", the remaining 8 encoders as Motorfader-replacement (mostly controls volume).
The Jogwheel function is available (17th encoder), and there are 3 button layers to which the LC commands are assigned
(of course, it is possible to add even more buttons (up to 128-2*17 = 94 button functions) and LEDs (up to 128), and to customize the button/LED in order to assign LC commands like desired - the MIDIbox LC application is really flexible :)
So, it is possible to change the motorfaders with encoders?
If you use the encoders with a sort of belt and the 'ledring' leds in a straight line next to to the belt for position indicator, then you have no need for MF-ers?
Correct me if I'm wrong.

OK, I understand.

It's only an idea, because I don't know anything about programming the PIC.
Thorsten has give up the idea of USB to MIDI, but is it maybe possible to use the USB port in that PIC for a memorystick?
Then you have more space then the bankstick?

Maybe an idea to make a subforum for user to selling their boxes to other users, with no profit of course.

Ah, I shell read it, but my German is terrible. ;D

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is the 18F4550 the same as 18F452?
I'm meaning, with the 452 you need a midi port, and for the 4550 an usb port?
So if you use the 4550, you don't need midiports anymore?

Thanks for the tip Rene. Thorsten, it looks like this happens on Windows PC's that don't already have Java installed. JAR files are just glorified ZIP files, perhaps Windows renames them when the file extension is unknown.
On the moment that I've downloaded it, I have Java 1.4.2 or something, now I have Java 1.5 and when I download it again, again it's a zip.
I don't think it's a problem, rename the file and all's well.
-
Hello, you forget to say that if it's downloaded you must rename it to *.jar.
Because when I've downloaded it, it's a zip file.

OK, I live in Holland and had the same problem, so I found out that Conrad Germany sells them under number:442081-07.
I ask Conrad Netherlands, and thet can sell them to, so... ask Conrad UK and maby they can to.
Go to www.conrad.com and choose the uk.
I hope it helps.

The Hague, Netherlands, connection 1500 Cable.

It works fine.

Well, because sawing gives a lot of dust I use a knife.
(Stanley or somelike)
It takes several strikes to cut, say it, halfway, and then you can break it, a little sandpaper to make the edges smooth.

Heeft er ooit iemand in Nederland betaalbare motorfaders gevonden, en zo ja, WAAR?
Het liefst ook in Nederland te koop.

The idea is good to change the panasonic, BUT what does the touch switch?
Is it detect the position, the movement, or whatever.
What I mean is, is the switch closed when you touch the fader whatever the position is?

( Never mind, I found the answer here http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=parts_q;action=display;num=1079521748 )

Mayby a synth module or keyboard with flop or memorycard will do?

Sorry. :-[

Thanks for the quick reply, so IF I build something AND I will use it with Cubase (or Sonar?) as a Mackie or LogicControl THEN I must use for evey core a midi port.
For the moment something to think about, if I have more questions or I'm stuck, I ask again. Thanks again.
René
See also http://www.midibox.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=concepts;action=display;num=1086450431Addendum: MIDIbox LC is an exception, because the host application (Logic/Cubase/etc...) requires to connect each core to a seperate MIDI IO!
Note that this limitation is only valid for the Logic Control or Mackie Control emulation --- with a common MIDIbox you can chain the modules ("MIDIbox Link")
Best Regards, Thorsten.

If you use more than 1 core, say 3, is it than possible to use for every core a midi i/o? Less latency maybe?
René

Hello Axel,
You put in a midisport, so is this that you use for every core mudule a midi port, or is the chain of cores connected to 1 midi i/o?
Is it even possible to use 1 midi i/o for each core?
Less latency?

I've seen this unit and I must say, "VERY GOOD JOB".
I think it's now possible to use somthing else then the Digidesign consoles, this one is more beautiful then the Digi.
SO, if it's possible can you mail or post the schematic (block) of the unit?
