  1. i want to create a drum sampler. is there any way to interface a hard drive or flash type memory to the core to be triggered by the dout lines. volume would be controlled via the velocity portion of the midi code at the dac.

  2. D2K.....

Yes, I  have working drum triggers. I am working on putting 8 usable trigger integrated into a mb64 v2.0, so the setup menus can be used and the different modes for the different displays. Next will be integration of more triggers(16-32) into mb64 v2.0. As soon as I have 8 triggers working well in mb64 v2.0 I will release it here.

    No hardware changes yet..........

Thanks for hangin' in there. I know it is taking me a long time. ;D

  3. still working, slowly but surely ;). I am building more triggers and ainx4 to test 16-32 inputs ;D and trying to get functionality with mb64 v2.0 ???. Hang in there guys, Ill get it done eventually.... :-/

the circuit that buffers the piezo's voltage for the ain is available on the portal (thanks smashtv). If anyone tests it please let me know what happened. Thanks...

  4. yes, definitely still a go-er,

School and job and kids and wife and .......not to mention two hard drive crashes.

troubles have made it difficult to do any testing but I will post what I have.

I tried to get into the portal tonight but it wouldn't load.

smashtv offered some space on his server a while back to put the file(s), but i don't know if the offer still stands, I have the .brd file, just need some space somewhere to put it.

If you need the .brd file email me, the rest will be posted soon, sorry for the wait.....

  5. defred: the note on note off messages are handled in the code.

Question : is there any additional hardware to setup between the piezo triggers and a standard AIN module to get this working ? Or is it simple

yes, there is a modified version of admir's analog frontend(it amplifies and holds the signal long enough for the MB ain to measure it).

    moebius: You are correct.

smash tv has offered to host the files for me and I(or he) will post a link here to those files. It will be a few more days before I post them because I want the code to be commented well so it is easy to understand. And I have to draw a schematic for the buffer circuit since I only modified the eagle .brd file. And since school just started back for the spring semester, my time is very limited, but I will hurry!!!!

                                                          Dave.

  6. Hey, drumwide,

Why don't you post the schematics, so we can discuss it...

I will post the eagle .brd file and the code as soon as I find a place to put it(what server).I have no website. If any one would like a copy before I get it posted email me:

                              dwide.dwide@gmail.com

SEPHULT:    Yes the triggers will be velocity sensitive.

STEVEN_C:   Yes the sensitivity is set by the amount of electricity provided by the piezo.

PAY_C:    No, din is required, but you need the buffer circuit to amplify the voltage of the piezo and to hold it long enough for the ain to measure it.

My testing methods are not the greatest in the world so progress is slow ,but I am in the process of making more triggers so to update you all:

I only have two triggers working now. both are working in the midibox drum trigger application and in the addin for the midibox64.As I get more triggers made I will test

more. The first version of the midibox drum triggers (v1.5) is running on MIOS 1.5 and has no bells and whistles(menus, encoders, buttons,or anything).the velocity seems to work fine after a little adjustment to the values of risng threshhold.

    Will post more ASAP :D

  7. Will each module employ a scalable, slave-core model, like the MF module?

    8 triggers per slave core?

I am very excited about this one. ;)

Yes the trigger to analog interface(buffer circuit) will handle only 8 inputs right now. So if you used 8 slave modules you can get 64 triggers to the core in muxed mode. Using the ainx4 modules.

I haven't tested this yet as I am only in the first phases of development. But in theory this is how it works.

  8. Midibox Drum Triggers working now. Still need some tweaks on the software and hardware sides but it is coming along nicely(thanks to TK's drum trigger driver).

I wan't to tweak it a little more before the first release.

I haven't started the implementation for MB64 yet but, Thorsten has made his code very easy to understand. So maybe it won't take me to long to get a working version up and running.

;D  drumwide all smiles about MB drums!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. can someone help me to write a loop in assembly.

I want to scan the analog inputs for votage, loop until peak voltage is reached, then transmit the peak voltage as velocity via midi, and then start over after the pin voltage goes to zero.

I have several ideas about how to do this, I am looking for the best way. ???
