  1. Just started building part of a mbox64.. i've got 16 knobs.. and they all work thru the ain_example_3.. but i load up the midibox64 app. and i get no midi out.. can't seem to connect with the windows gui, and can't load programs without restarting and sometimes reloading the os.. someone help.. ???
  2. you got it.. got my 2nd sid going.. a nice little 1 space rack to complement the desktop w/ control.. more questions.. different project.. new thread comin up
  3. ok.. so i got sidplayer_B working.. but when i load on a SID 1.6 prog, It sounds like it's formating a bank stick (not instlled yet).. it goes.. ding ding ding ding Bling Bling (Bling like the init sound and ding like bank format).. seems no matter which soft i load, it does this(Sid 1.6 config files).. like i say, sidplayer is fine.. whats goin on here?!?!!? so close..
  4. wierd.. looking for ANYTHING of use on the site, i ran across sid interconnect "B" and it works..
  5. Just building my 2nd sid setup now.. Running into the same problems i had the first time.. I run the interconnect test.. and get all 5V on the data pins.. I've manually checked continuity to all pins.. and voltages all check out good.. I've tried new shift registers.. Also rewired it a few times.. and made sure to do the mios 1.7 mod. And.. Nothing.. Same results.. The Interconnect test does in fact work with mios 1.7, correct? is there a way i can check the data and clock? Also the serial out from the shift register is at 5V too.. HELP! :-)
  6. I did load the bootstrap loader, and have tried to send 1.6 and 1.7 of mios to it via Midi-OX... I do see the requests and confirmations.. i've sent the test string that's supposed to echo back, but i got an extra byte before the F7.. i'll check the cable one more time.. but i'm near positive it's right..
  7. Hey everyone.. i've been trying to get my sid working, to little or no avail.. the OS is loaded, as is the app, and i can see the OS making the call on bootup,etc.. the sid was getting hot, and thorsten assured me that's ok.. the crystal is also getting hot too, which is wierd.. anyway.. I just hooked up a 2x40 LCD to a cable per the wiring diagram.. the backlight works, and i get 1 solid row of blocks, then the next row is empty.. i've loaded a few apps on the chip to see if it would initialize, but nothing.. i've used LCD's before on other projects, so i'm familiar with them.. i've checked n double checked my wiring.. no dice.. any ideas??
  8. hey all.. got my core working.. tested it with the interconnection test.. everything checks out.. all voltages are good. .even the 12v line looks good.. but when i put the chip in, the crystal and sid, get hot! any ideas?
  9. one other thing i've noticed during my session tonite, the sid and the crystal both get hot when i apply 12v.. i've checked the voltage to the chip, and it looks good..
  10. ok.. i got this issue squared away,, i didn't read the mios section to well, and was used to loading pics slightly differently... so, my interconnect test works great.. no probs.. hook up the sid, try to send a note, expecting something, nope, nothing.. so, i loaded up the jsynthlib and loaded some patches on i think.. still no output.. i do see midi in and out in midi-ox, and i can ping the core fine and all.. what nextt?
  11. i'm working away at the sid, i've built 2 core/sids , both are having the same problem.. the interconnect test is not affecting the output pins on the sid socket.. it is receiving midi, as i can see the midi out port change when i send data.. all pins that would be used for the interconnect test show 5v.. i've tried unplugging the pic, which drops it to 0v as does unplugging the 595.. any idea what's going on here?
