  1. Wow - what a beautiful job he has done!  I like addition of the cherubs for that classical effect!

I'm also running Hauptwerk with an old 3 manual stack MIDIfied with the MIDIO128 kit.  I do keep wanting to add solenoid drawstops, but they cost so much - if anyone has a cheap alternative (a simple DIY job?), I'd be interested to know.

  2. Hi All,

I've just been trying to put the finishing touches to my MIDI organ console, but in the process of doing so, I think I shorted something (PIC got very hot...) and since then my DIN modules won't work.  After a lot of swearing and pulling of hair I think I've tracked down the problem:

-DIN modules work correctly, I've tested them with my other core module

-I can manually short the input terminals to the core module and it picks up the fake "inputs"

-Clock out (RD3 on PIC) is running nicely

-Ld pin (RD2 on PIC) isn't pulsing (I've tested this on a scope at work)

So my question is (finally), have I fried my PIC beyond all repair or might a complete re-flash work?  I can reprogram the core via MIDI so most of it is working (including the LCD).

I think I saw a message on the LCD when I installed MIOS 1.8 (to try and fix the problem) which said "fixing...." but I didn't spot what it thought it was fixing.

Thanks for any help you can give,

    Chris.

  3. Well... Did all the swapping round last night, but the DINs still default to the "on" state in the sw.

I think the problem is that they do default to on in the sw and as no button states are toggled at power up, they remain in the "on" state.

I added some (probably bad) code to the init routines to toggle the DIN values and this works for me.

Am I right - was it a sw problem?  If so, it would be nice to be able to specify another setting in the .ini file for whether the inputs should default to on or off.  This is only really required for buttons using the toggle setting.

  4. Hi All,

Just finished building my MidIO128 for use as an organ stop control unit but have come across (what I believe to be) a problem.  When powering up, all the DIN buttons effectively default to being "on" (but the corresponding outputs aren't activated).  Is there a way to make them default to being "off"?

I believe this is due to the button states are inverted for the DIN modules, but I can't be sure being a newbee to this system.

    Thanks for any help!

    Chris.
