    Noob alert!

Hi mr_chombee ;) I've only just finished one DIN board but I'm getting quicker by the minute now that i'm getting into soldering again. I've not soldered boards for years since I was at college. I reckon I'll have all the boards soldered up by the end of the week. ;D
  2. Haha, I just bought a new iron. The element was dodgy on the last one and it wasn't heating up enough. The new one works a treat now. 8)
  3. eek!, I just had a bad experience with the desoldering braid (never use this stuff before). I think I'm going to buy a pump instead as I know how to use them. I'm not so sure about this lead free solder I bought either...
  4. Wow, that looks incredible! I wonder how much they'll retail at?
  5. Thanks! I have an Antex iron and you can change the bits on them, I needed a new one anyway as the bit on mine is corroded. I'm just compiling a shopping list now to take down to Maplin tommorrow. Cheers.
  6. Since I have to buy a new one, what type of soldering iron bit would you recommend using? Are the pointed ones better than the ones with an angled flat bit? I have always used the angled flat bit in the past and I've never used a pointed one before.
  7. My kit was delivered yesterday along with my PICs and Banksticks that I ordered from elsewhere. That's 3 days! Great service and communications all round. Just got to buy a new multi-meter and tip for my soldering Iron and I'm away! ;D

Yeah that's exactly what I mean 8) By the way, do you have any examples of track by Meshuggah that do that? it sounds really interesting! thanks.

I just used the 1-12 as an example, I used the track length feature quite a lot when I had the Notron. Using 2 tracks set on the same midi channel set at different track lengths (say track 1 = 1-6 and track 2 = 1-13) playing through a monosynth yields some very interesting loops that constantly evolve over a length of time. It doesn't matter too much if it doesn't, I'm still going to build it ;D

Actually, I just read the specs again and it seems it does more then the Notron! I was extremely tired last night so i'll read through everything again... ::)

Hi, I'm new here if you hadn't guessed that already! I've decided I'm going to build the SEQ V.2 and i've orderd my boards and PICs after spend many hours last night reading this forum and info on MIDIboxes. It's just the thing I'm looking for as I am building up my gear again so I can play out live just like in the old days :) I've just bought an MPC 1000 too. Just a few quick questions though, can you make the sequences run backwards and the shorten the length of sequences? (ie, change form 16 steps to 12) It's just that we used to have one of those LAtronic Notrons in our studio and I miss it so much that it drew me to building this project. I obviously don't expect it to be the same but I thought i'd ask anyway. ;)
