ok i figured so but just wanted to make sure...i had to reorder my core module because a couple of the contacts on the board must have melted off or something probably because my soldering iron was too hot..but i had the core working after a bit i just want to test the sid module..oh well have to wait the core Sean
im having similar issues with my lcd....at first the bottom row of blocks appeared then i found a wire had come disconnected.....then after I fixed it both rows appeared. I uploaded mios and the sid apps and checked it out with midiox and everything appears to be good...but still no text just blocks on the lcd.... Sean
Right now I dont have a way to convert to negative voltage..although I have ordered an inverter....I was thinking of just ordering another lcd with it built in but wouldnt something display anyways or am I wrong? I did adjust the contrast so blocks appeared.. I probably should go over the soldering again Sean
I purchased a lcd from crystalfontz.com (http://www.crystalfontz.com/products/2002a/index.html#CFAH2002AYMCJP) and turns out it uses negative voltage...when i connect it to the core i get 2 rows of blocks...ive uploaded the mios sysex and pinged it to make sure it uploaded and was successful. now since it uses negative voltage should i even get anything to display besided blocks? Thanks Sean
that one connection by c3 is there.. i took a pic of the solder side: http://dsdigitalmedia.com/images/solderside.jpg.. not the best solder job in the world but oh well..lol Sean
i forgot also to mention the 7805 was getting really hot...wonder that has anything to do with it.. dont think will really help but here is a pic of my board:
ok i put together smash tvs core and i got a 5v reading with MCLR(1) - IC1:Vss(12) but no reading with Vdd(11) - IC1:Vss(12), Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) and IC2(8) - IC2:(5).. could this be a short or just a bad solder? im using the c64 psu Thanks! Sean
btw love the boards from smastv..very quick delivery...only one problem at the moment..the numbering either is off for the sid board or i missed something. it seems to be missing c8 and c6 and c7 seem to be switched or the quickview has not been updated. Sean
