  1. Yes I have, and uploaded MIOS v1.8 yesterday trough MIOS Studio as you said. I have AIN and DIN hooked on the core and it is working OK. LCD... not.
  2. Before I ask some stupid question I want to say, I read out everithing on the site so meny times but a lot of things is still not detailed enough to me to get it. I used to PC tutorials and lot of things here seams already known to people. Sorry but for me it should be more exactly like Click here, and you will see that here... I have no experience in any programming language so changing the codes is last option for me. I am posting on this forum as a last option since I feel bad to bothering firstly TK with my problems but I just cant help myself anymore. I read out main.asm of CRC application and also description on download page, and also search forum for some info but canot get where I should see the result of the CRC test besides on LCD. I vas looking for BB15 in input monitor. Couldn`t find it. Maybe I couldn`t upload it correctly. I didnt reasemble the code since I didnt wanted to change anything. I just use main.syx code from crc.v1.5 directory. Is it OK to enough to see BB15 as the midi message in MIDI input monitor)? more info what I`ve done till now: - I programe bootstrap loader and 877 hexes with JDM this time. - firstly bothe boxes was working - I also have problems with recently working 16F877 box. Now when turning some pots in MIDI-OX shoving like sending notes, and some pots are sending sysexes. It looks very strange to me. I`ve put it aside for later debugging since my other 18F542 also have to be debugged for known reasons. - I didnt mess up with changeing ID. only if it could happend accidentally. But I doubt it can be. - I think I am using MIOS v1.7 (I`ll chane it to 1.8 )
  3. I have uploaded CRC aplication, and I am not sure if I get it right is is working. If LCD isn`t problem i could see it on display but now I am not sure. I couldn`t find step by step instruction using it. Only thing i can see now is different sysx at the begining as you can see. Beside LCD box is working. Here is peace of code. PS. I recheck zilion times conection with multimeter and it is fine. PCB looks clean and healthy. 4. Has anibody tried to make encoder out of mouse parts. I am gathering mouse parts (optical elements and weels) for long time for rigid optical encoder. Idea is surely not mine and seams very easy to make it if you know how. What do I need to use IR phototransistors as an encoder. It must be some simple circuit. IR diode is probably just conected to the power source. Almost all of my encoders on Korg microControl stopped working properly short after I bought it (new) and I almost didn`t use it at all. After that I realised that mechanical encoders are really bad idea. Optical is virtualy nendestructible! What do you think...?
  5. As my display feature suddanly stopped working (display module is OK) I am also thinking of onboard programming as convenient feature and I am also interested is there I should know about that.
  6. I have no functional programmer at home so i couldn`t reprograme it right away so that solution is out right now I have one more question... I am testing reconfiguring, dumping sysx a lot since I get my box working I have a lot to learn and see in real life. Jidis said he got messy MIOS. Could it get messy of a lot of sysx sending and reconfiguring? Could MIOS get unstabile or demmaged after some time or a lot of dumping? Is there any precausions I must take care of?
  7. I made my midibox, and yesterday tried it with 4x16 and 4x20 LCDs. It was working great but suddanly when I changed back to first tested 4x16 module it stopped. It starting with blocks like before, when MIOS is booting, but nothing happends after. From time to time when i power it up it shows something like 2 demmaged blocks. I tested my midibox with few other modules which was working but nothing happends. I tried other power supply... nothing. I tested both LCDs on PC paralel port and both are working properly, so problem is on the box. Could it be MIOS or core. I checked wires and PCB also and it seams OK. What could be the problem? I didnt mention, except LCD box is working without any problems! I just started enjoing my LCD but happiness didnt last long :(
  8. No Roga, I never heard of them. I find out guys who are reselling RS, and Monacor stuff. I am glad about these monsaelectronic cause I found some very cool and inexpensive things on Farnel`s website. Great man! ...you know the situation here... PS. I received crystals from Raphael yesterday, so we`ll se what will happend now
  9. Yeah, that is good reason to be attracted with round buttons. ;D If you are making panel using hands round is choice. Once I was cutting narrow holes for slidrs on a 2mm aluminum and never again. :o ??? Crazyness! But I am lately thinking of laser cuted plexiglass . You can do it witn only one hand-tool, mouse. There`s good variety of colours and transparencies. You can screenprint your artwork on top of it and leave signs and letters clear so you can illuminate everithing from belove - good for using in dark enviroment. Clubs, or dark basement studio :). I`m thinking of making controller especially designed for Ableton Live with that kind of illumination. I think it can looks great and could be also really usefull for liveplaying. So, at the end I am definitly for lots of square buttons, and round knobs. Like it should be! ;) Cutting plexiglass is much cheaper than aluminum since it needs less time to cut.

    Nice Bts

Cool! So, you feel it is on with all your sences. ;D Thx for explanetion
  11. Sasha

    Nice Bts

In description for these buttons they say "Tactile feeling". What does it means? Soft touch, or the way they respond to pressing? Check out these 4 direction buttons.(also Shanpu) Great for menu navigation!
  12. Just when you think you found perfect buttons and knobs for your bidibox project, something new apears. This is some of the things I like most till now. MEC> http://www.mec.dk --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FARNELL> http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/home/homepage.jsp               SIFAM> http://www.sifam.com/ I`ve seen these soft touch knobs on some professionall big mixers!
  13. Maaan! That polyester resin technique sounds great! Not only because of possibility for small-serial production, It`s great because you can make everything as you like - totaly custom. Bad is that we don`t have boat shops here. You can buy it only on a 200 liters directly from the chemical company. Little too much for knobs and buttons. :) But I think I can find some for me. How is your experience in making small parts of it? Do you have some tips, pix or some usefull website (English pease)? I`m really interesting in this. Also would be nice to build a non-square midibox with lots of curves. Sexy! :P There`s not much freedom designing flat panell case. Maybe to build a fiberglass case on which you screw aluminum pannel/s.... or maybe... Reeally usefull!
  14. Yeah, that`s tha machine! :) Thx Mike!
  15. Not as good, acrylic it`s much better. You wan`t find much acrylic industry buttons because PVC is cheaper material. There is machine for this, but since I don`t know the name of it I draw one ugly for ya. If you have some skills with metal you can make one easily out of ordinary "rotating cutter" ...not out of step motors! ;D But I think you actually only need a piece like on the image below. You can make it of wood blocks or you can buy plastic one. Also don`t know it`s name :) It`s use is for square cutting. I`m sure you can get enough good results by cutting with hand saw (small teeths). You just need the 90 deg. cuts. After cutting you are going to sand those cutts with sandpaper anyway. The blue part determines the lenght of button bars. If you make more than one button it is very usfull. If somebody knows the right names I`m missing here feel fee to aducate me. :P
  16. Same idea but except that you cannot use momentary buttons from the PC keyboard. If I understand you correctly you want it for power on/off.
  17. Tkanks Moebius, but Rafael already offered me help. Thx Raff! I also menaged with my boss about paying to him with paypal. But I`m sure I am going to need more favours from you western guys. ;)
  18. Hmmmm, not sure I understand the word :P Let me see... I can buy other parts here, but for your information shitty slider 60mm completly of plastic cost 2 Euros here, you cannot buy any encoders, nice buttons, so it`s realy problm. Especially because of that problems with shipping
  19. This is actually my very old idea, but I never knew how to realise it since I`m not some electronic genious.. :P This is another great midi project based on PIC, and I wonder is there some ideas how to interface electromehanics with midibox. I know there`s a way to put relays (probably too slow for this purpose) on a digital out modules, but can you somehow send midi signals from sequencer to transistors which drives the motors, electromagnets... I get inspired about interfacing drum over midi when I first time saw automated piano with rorating drum with mechanical trigers on it. Imagine to put little beaters on a diferent kind of junk... cans, boxes, real drums on a stage and sequence it in a backstage. If you make fast beaters that react quickly it could be more then usefull. LINK: http://logosfoundation.org/instrum_gwr/troms.html AND FREAKS:
  20. Thx, I`m glad I can help about this things, but I wish I could help ... first to myself, and also to others to build working midibox. :P I`m still batling with it. ??? :(
  21. That`s also good idea. I just have one on my window, but it is hexagonal what also could be interesting. Damn man, now I have to canibalise mine, which is in use, because of you nasty sugestion. ;D We are one great recycling community.

That`s why this category is brother from far east.
  23. Evo, ja se muvam malo po forumu, prepisujem se sa ovim freak-om T-i K-ejom i pokušavam da ukapiram šta to ne valja sa mojom kutijom. Nego, navra?a li ovde još naše raje. ??????? ?? ????????. :-* ????
  24. No man, that`s the point. It is easy and fast to built. All you have to do is to draw litle bars in Corel, Illustrator or else, and take it to CNC laser cutters. After that, I`ve done drilling in hands with normal handheld drilling machine. Acuracy of hole is not, a problem. You just need some hole to put LED in. :) Buttons are for PCB, so you can mount it on a vector board. I am perfectionist, that`s why it seems like a lot of work. I just made few sugestions how things can looks perfect even they are from trash. Try to make one. Answer: yes I want A LOT of it on my box! ;D ;D ;D
  25. Drop an eye on my topic about this very good buttons: http://69.56.171.55/~midibox/forum/index.php?topic=4322.0
