  1. Made the mistake and used flat top LED's, terrible. Especially if you have to disassemble the control surface again, like I had to :-(

I know exactly what you mean, I used flat top leds on my mb6582 and had to take it apart twice... Never the less, your seqv4 looks great and having seen it I might just go with flat top leds on my seqv4 that is waiting in the mail.

  2. Very good site, tnx! Total information overload!! Will have to sleep on it and re think my strategy in the morning! Still think the MBHP is brilliant as a base for the whole project. That guy just confirmed a lot of my ideas especially for the "wind" part of the controller. He's obviously done a lot of research on the subject. So why re-invent the wheel. Are definitely going to incorporate some of those ideas!

Really interesting idea, please keep me/us updated on the progress. I played the sax years ago and still remembers the day I saw the Casio midi version at my local music shop. Back then I didn't have the money, now I don't have the time...

  3. Something is definately wrong here. The test tone should be 1khz and played on all four channels. My MBFM is in my workshop and I'm going away for vacation for a week so I can't record the test tune, but tyr google for 1khz test tune and you will know what it'll sound like.

Have you checked, double checked and tripple checked every connection between the core->opl3 module->psu against the wiring diagrams? Have you checked for any soldering problems on the opl3 board?

  4. Sounds like a really interesting project! I've been searching for the PGA4311 but could not find a source here in scandinavia that could provide just a couple of chips. I'm aiming for a (preferably small) mixer with 8 channels but being a novice in assembler, I decided to get a couple of chips just to play with before taking on a full mixer project.

Any ideas where I could get the PGA4311 for a fair price?
