Stryd,
thanks for the links, very interesting project.

Just a quick update, I have done some work on this, basically the way it works is that it stores the last played of each type of midi message, so they can be used as modulators for messages sent in real time.... You set up as many 'operators' as you want, and when a message is sent from the keyboard to the core, if it matches the input filter of the operator, the message is combined with fixed parameters, user-selected values, and/or the stored input from other messages, to provide the output you require.
This sounds more complex than it is ;) I'll give some examples....
Lets say you select the traditional midi mapper operator. You set it to accept midi note ons/note offs, on channel 1 (because your controller is stick on channel 1 heheh) , in the range between C2 and C3... You select a note shift of +12, and a channel shift of +5, and it will output notes on channel 6, between C3 and C4
Or you could use an operator which maps the last received CC#1 (modwheel) value to the velocity of the incoming notes, so you can use the modwheel to control velocity.... and then use the incoming velocity to set another midi CC like filter cutoff....
I know that's not a great explanation but I've done too much typing this week already so I hope this makes it clear enough! :)
Dude,
This sound great!! I look forward to the final app.
thanks..

docbrown: does it matter if i get the ICL7660 or MAX1044? i'm assuming 1 per lcd?
excuse me if my questions are obvious. i'm new to electronics (and extremely excited).
Ultra,
I personally used the MAX1044, but I think they are both pin compatible. And yes, you might need one per LCD, it depends, since some LCD's (even the same model) might react differently on negative voltage. Try using one first, if it looks ok.
cheer!!

That's why they should be called "CellPhone Shack" too. ;D

How about Radio Smack!! :D

hello TK
i noticed a bug encoder with deph env
the parameter don't come back when it's -64 and only decrement
is it a bug or my machine (i put a picture of it but it's not finish yet)?
thank you
Nice one!! ;)

You won't be offending anyone. Radio Shack employees are cell phone store jockies who feel proud because their stores are more 'independent' than CompUSA.
LOL :D

So I asked the manager, "Should this 15W tip work in my [points to other soldering iron] slightly different iron, as long as I have it set on 15W?"
"It should!" he says. Good enough for me, so I spend my two bucks and go home. Swap in the tip, plug in the iron, and SPARK! Put the original tip back in, and it doesn't heat up. Take the whole thing apart, the wires inside have been vaporized. Go back to the store, tell the manager he's a bloody idiot, and head to a different electronics store for a new Weller iron.
Andrew, that's sucks! :(
I'm not sure if you've notice that most Radio Shack employee are not that good in electronics, at least on Most of the store that I visit. :(
No offense to you RadSnack guys with electronic skillz!! ;)

Plus the tables at ucapps.de render correctly now, which is far more important than work ;)
Rock on!! Same here!! ;D
Sorry for the mini hijack there, but I've been known to blast FF for going beyond "non-MS" into "anti-M$" territory, so I thought that, seeing as it came up, I'd say something nice about it for a change heheheh
MS fanboy!! ;D

Even this Radio Shack soldering Iron work better than that thing.

Good choice of project.. ;) Welcome aboard. ;D.

I see it with Firefox 1.5.0.6.

You know, I was curious about this too. ??? But I'm too cheap to bet my $19 bux for it. ;D
Besides, the tip seems to be very fat!! Not good work PCB work!!
cheers!!

Just to make sure: theres no polarity on resistors and ceramic capacitors, right?
Right!! Except for electrolytic capacitor.

Whats the size? do you need it powder coated? i would say powder coated and silk screen $20.00 just silk screen $15.00.
Joe
Wow Joe, that is a good price.. :D Man, I already order my panel from Schaeffer which cost me $120 bux.. :'(
Oh, and the size of the panel is 19.0157"x5.2165" which is a rack mounted type. I'm sure somebody in this forum could use your services for their future projects.
thanks for the info BTW. :)

Hi
I can do silk screen very reasanable. check out my site. i will also be offering chrome and gold brush plating soon.

How much will it be to silkscreen this panel?

Congrats Steve!! very professional looking!!
-
The only restriction on it is that boards made from it cannot be sold commercially.
Yes, understood.. I simply intent to make these projects for my personal use only.
-
Steve,
Very impressive design!! thank you!!
;)

Do a clockbox or something man, keep it simple. You can link it to a drum box and show them how turning the knob changes the tempo.
I agree 100%.. ;)
But I think our n00b friend might ask where is the link to the clockbox?
Search the forum brah-dah!! ;D
cheers!!

Woah Dude... You got your work cut out for you in the next few months. Forget about your families and friends ;D , coz that is a major project. ;)
I know its sounds exciting, but keep in mind these projects takes a lot of time plus money. ;)
Well first off, do this, before commiting to this project:
1. Prototype out your user interface layout. i.e. switches and pots, & encoders. Draw the actual pots and switches on a big cardboard box, this helps alot.
2. Count how many inputs and outputs, then you'll figure out your total modules. DIN's/DOUT's etc.
3. Read the funny but informative n00b 4 dummies: http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=3650.0
4. If you are still conviced that this project is for you... Start ordering your kits and stuff. ;D
enjoy!!

Yo! TK, I did the same thing also for my MBSEQv2.

It looks and it works great so far. ;D I'm just waiting for schaffer to ship me my panel..
cheers!!

I know this might sound kind'a lazy. But, here it goes anyway's.. :-[
Can anybody here in this forum would like to share their Core_v2/3 schematics in Eagle format. Any custom Core schematics will help as well. Please!!! :-[
I'm currently practicing Eagle schematics for my days off, due to my recent car accident back in Aug 25th..
I'm fine all and all, except I have an excruciating pain on my lower back due to a muscle sprain. Starting last thursday, my doctor have me stay home for about a week. So I have alot of time on my hand!!
thanks guys!!
