  1. I contacted Jon several months back and inquired if he had the time to do a mod on an SX-64, we talked a few times on the phone...He seems like a nice enough guy and i felt comfortable sending him the unit....he wrote me a few times after he received it then nothing. I've given him PLENTY of opportunity to fix the matter and he refuses to contact me. At this point i consider the computer stolen, and he a thief. Obviously, I would avoid any dealings with him.

  2. Well, after lots of building, i decided to give you guys the first peek at my progress as i'm waiting for my rare parts and two knobs to arrive.

A couple of things for people who haven't built it, 3mm LEDs instead of 5mm, (the original x0x calls for 5mm, so if you go off the BOM for the x0x, change this) The stansoffs should be a little different, 3/8 is a little much, i just bought some 5/16 (they're not here yet) and i think that should be good...i'll update everyone once its done. LED standoffs, dont use the ones on the BOM...they arent tall enough.

Here are a couple of pics, i liked the "slimmer" look of Sashas so i did it...the dark part is silver although you cant tell because it's dark.

I'm building two, they are going to be gifts one for my business partner (Paul Barker formerly Ministry etc) and the other for our employee Dwayne Dassing (Mentallo and the fixer)

  3. Sasha,

that b0x looks great, the slimmer look certainly makes that enclosure look nicer! I think i may try to tackle that too.

Another thing, I'm an effects manufacturer in Texas and i ship stuff all over the world pretty much every day. IF you decide to do more panels or even PCBs i would be more than happy to help you distribute them..that way you're only shipping one box and i can ship them from here. I understand if you dont want to, but know the offer is always there.  :)

  4. Holy COW those panels are awesome! I got mine in the mail today, and i have to say...GREAT JOB!!! those look fantastic.

I've been super busy with my work so i havent been keeping up with the x0xb0x threads but if someone is offering a "rare parts" kit please email me at malekkoheavyindustry@gmail.com. I dont have a bunch of time to source parts these days so any help would be appreciated.

And a personal "thank you" goes out to Sasha, i truly appreciate all you put into this. Although this project had it's ups and downs, please know I am and always will be very thankfull to you as the squelchiness emits form my monitors!

now if i could just get 2 sets of those sweeeeeeeeet translucent buttons!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D ;) :)

  5. Ok, so if your friend has a wife she has access to the packages. This should be easily sorted out then. Hopefully you will contact the sister, who can contact the wife and drop these packages in the mail. I personally paid for 2 sets of PCBs what seems like a year ago and 2 sets of panels. I will also say that i got a few nasty emails from you when i didnt respond the next day to an email you wrote me wanting money for panels. And its been many many months that you've had money from people without anything in return. I think everyone has been pretty nice so far about this. I think if the shoe were on the other foot you'd be writing every day a where's my stuff email. Luckily for you, i'm not that kind of person. But you took on this project, made a bad decision about giving other peoples property to someone else, so take on the responsibility on getting people the stuff they paid for...a long time ago.

  6. Oh DUH, i dont need screws for the faceplate...I'm a little slow..i've been breathing solder all day  :D

Black screws? There are no screws showing on the front panel.

PLEASE everyone review the MB-6582 construction guide before starting construction. Any questions, please ask me on the forum (so I can explain to everyone at once).

  7. thanks for the info.

I really like the sound of the 8580, but i only have 6581s...i cant ever seem to get the 8580s though. And to be honest i've never even heard of the 6582 until today. I've been doing research on them every since i saw your box.

Thanks again for posting that great looking box...the LAST  thing i need is another project...but as soon as the PCBs are available i'm putting everything else on hold!

    now to find 6582s or 8580s... ;)

  8. Wilba,

I'm speechless, you did such an awesome job on this project!

I look forward to getting PCBs when they're ready...you mentioned you have some 6582s FS...could i put myself down for 9 (it's good to have one spare)

and i missed where you got those knobs from?

now back to drooling at the pics!
