  1. Hi,

    I'm selling two midibox instruments:

    - sammichFM in acrylic enclosure. Works 100% (knobs, pots, display as it should). The sammich comes with no power plug, just the sammichFM as pictured.

    asking EUR 230,-

    - MB6582 fully built in Pactec enclosure, with red display. Includes 6 x 6582 SIDs (NOS ordered back then via Wilba) and 1 x 6581 (ripped from a C64).

    Here comes the story:
      It was working 100%. Then I had the MB6582 in storage for about 2 years. If I turn it on now, it will boot up correctly but some of the encoders/buttons will react, some won't. The situation which encoder/button works changes with each start of the box (on/off). So I'm a bit clueless what the issue here is. Maybe it is a wire problem from the Control surface to the mainboard. But I can also not hear a sound when triggering via midi. So this is probably only for someone experienced in debugging...
    The MB6582 will come without the Rean knobs which I have put on for the photo. I have a spare C64 power plug which I can provide.

    asking EUR ??? . I really do not know what I could take for this? Parts prices? I'm open for sensible offers... Please note that I want to sell the MB6582 'as-is' ie not selling the SID chips separately.

    Both midiboxes can be picked up in Frankfurt/Main Germany or shipped to your place (price plus shipping cost).

    Thanks and Regards, Frank

  2. Update: SIDs are all sold... thanks to the buyers & have fun :)

    Hi,

    while clearing my storage out, I found a couple of 6582a SID Chips which I purchased a couple of years ago from Wilba's bulk order.
    The chips are new and unused. Still sitting in the tubes which I originally received from Wilba. Have been stored warm and dry :)

    Have a total of 12  8 zero SIDs 6582a available. Per piece EUR 30,- plus shipping. Would prefer to sell them in pairs or multiple pairs.

    Payment via SEPA transfer to my account of Paypal F&F.

    Please leave me a message if you are interested.

    Thanks & regards, Frank

  3. Hi all,
    I'm selling various PCBs, SIDs etc. which I have bought over the past few years. As it is unrealistic for me to start any of the projects anytime soon I will sell them as listed below.
    All items are not used/new (only the 8580 SIDs are used as stated below).

    3 x MB-6582 Base board & Control Surface PCBs (from Wilba’s first PCB run, red PCBs)
    3 x MB-6582 drilled Front panel/plate & back plate for PacTec enclosure (black anodized aluminum, white silk print which is unfortunately not very sturdy (print flakes off a bit here and there))
    -> would like to sell them as ‚sets‘ consisting of 1x base board PCB, 1x control surface PCB, 1x front panel, 1 x back plate

    all SOLD

    3 x Crystalfontz red LCD 20x4 character displays ( https://www.crystalfontz.com/product/CFAH2004ARMCJP#specs )
    -> all SOLD

    2 x  Crystalfontz blue LCD 20x4 character displays ( https://www.crystalfontz.com/product/CFAH2004ATMIJP)
    -> all SOLD

    2 x Ultracore PCBs

    2 x Ploytec GM5 V1.1 USB Midi PCBs incl the SMD IC

    80 x Soundwell rotary encoders from Wilba’s bulk order (see -> )
    -> SOLD

    8 x SID 6582A from Wilba’s bulk order (new, unused)

    4 x SID 8580 R5, recovered from various C64s therefore of course used. The have been working in the C64, but haven’t had a chance to test them since.
    -> SOLD

    Please mail me for questions and / or pictures.
    Would prefer to sell within Europe/Germany. Payment via SEPA on my account. All prices in Euro plus shipping. I’m not interested in trades.

    Thanks a lot! Cheers, Frank

  4. Sold to a nice fellow in my town...

    Hi,

    I'm selling my sammichFM kit which I bought from Wilba. Details see here: http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/sammichFM

    The kit comes with all parts, LCD, casing (black acryl) to build the sammichFM minus the OPL3 chips. So you would need to source them separately, they are not included.

    Looking for EUR 100,- for the complete kit (payed EUR 170,- not including customs..). Would prefer to sell within Germany or EU. No trades, cash only.

    Please leave a PM if interested.

    Thanks a lot!

    cheers, Frank

  5. Hi there,

    anyone has an idea where to get an Orient Display AMC2004A-B-T6WTDR in Europe (in small quantities)? This was also subject for a bulk order http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,9979.0.html some time back.

    Hope there are some other dealers than shopeio.com, cause I have made some bad experience with them after ordering two of these LCDs end of 2007 (I never got the LCDs, but they got my money and after some mails going back and forth complaining about this, never heard again from them... customer service par exellence! You can imagine.. I somehow feel ripped off).

    Thanks a lot for any hint!

    cheers, Frank

  6. Hi there,

    I'm new to DIY and ordered MB-6582 PCB's some while ago. I thought it might be a good idea to start of with a single core/sid combination (as a training) before going for the BIG one...

    So I ordered a core module R4 (and SID) and parts from SmashTV and finished building the core yesterday night.

    I hooked up a C64psu which is giving around 10,5V (should I be worried why it's not 9V?). So here I am...

    Next step was checking the different IC pins ( IC1:MCLR(1) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5V / IC1:Vdd(11) - IC1:Vss(12) = 5V / IC1:Vdd(32) - IC1:Vss(31) = 5V / IC2(8) - IC2:(5) = 5V) like stated in TK's tutorial. The pic and opto is ofcourse not plugged in...

    My issue: when checking the pins I still get 10,5V!

    While troubleshooting and searching the forum I stumbled across this tread http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,9134.msg64926/topicseen.html#msg64926 which is handling some issue with the rectifier. I checked on that and noticed that rectifier + and the two ~ pins go to as described. But pin - is going nowhere.. well at least not to the middle pin of the 7805 as described in the thread. Do I miss a bridge here? Could this solve my problem?

    Any other hints and tips for troubleshooting are mostly welcome!  :) As I'm still a bit puzzled what else could the issue be..  ???

    cheers, frank

  7. Now would be a good time for everyone to show their appreciation of Twin-X's efforts and donate to the webhosting fund. There's no reason he should be spending his time and money to satisfy our MIDIbox addictions...

    Go click on the button in the top-right corner that looks like this: x-click-but04.gif

    Everyone who visits this forum daily should be donating at least US$10

    Everyone who got help with their MIDIbox via the forum or chat should be donating at least US$5

    ... and just for fun, the person making the biggest donation in the next 7 days will receive a set of four 6582 SIDs. This is not a joke, I really do have four SIDs left from a recently cancelled order. (In the case of more than one person donating the highest amount, the winner will be randomly selected from those people).

    ;D

    done!  ;D

  8. Hi there,

    think this might be interesting for the community...

    As I missed the LCD bulk order for Wilba's project, I was doing a little 'research' on the web where to get the Crystalfontz LCD for a reasonable price. Think I was successfull...  :)

    Crystalfontz CFAH2004A-TMI-JP (the blue one) for just US$ 9.99 (plus shipping)

    at www.divineo.com (direct link http://www.divineo.com/cgi-bin/div-us/zz-xb-lcd-b.html). There is no minimum quantity (well, strangely the price per unit goes up the more you order  ??? ).

    Unfortunately they only offer the blue and 'green' LCDs. But I'm just fine with the blue one.

    So maybe this is an alternative for other 'bulk-order-missers'...  ;D

    I already ordered some. Will give you feedback once they arrive at my place!
