The lack of info on the website makes me wonder :)
Can anyone else help me out in the meantime?
-
While I'm interested in acquiring 75-100 in total i'm still willing to work up to that buying from several people :)
-
Can someone please give me a little info about the buttons on this page or point me to a datasheet?

Mainly I'm interested in whether they are physically latched or not... and the diameter.
Thanks
Steve

I may actually be interested in 75-100 of these now. I take it the actual original group buy is sold out?
-
Oh I'm in the UK by the way :)
-
Would anyone like to sell me 50 of these encoders?
-
once the detent is removed, how is the slack on these encoders? i.e. that effect you get when you keep turning one way, then when you start turning the other way there is a loose section before it engages again.
I've found this happens a little when you remove the detent on the bourns encoders from SmashTV, it sometimes makes it quite tricky to select a precise value.. which isn't always a big deal.. sometimes it is.. like on note pitch etc :)

great thanks
based on this pic

looks like it's a variation of this bourns encoder

Hi,
Does anybody know what brand and model the rotary encoders in the Clavia Nord G2, Stage, Lead 3 etc are?
Is the encoder seperate to the led ring? I'm only looking for the encoder..
I'd like some knobs with a similar fine detent feel...
Cheers

many thanks nILS :)
J1 all the way!

Connection to the powersupply. Either the output of a 7V-10V transformer, or a wall adapter can be used. 500 mA is recommented, especially if a backlit display is used, but MIDIfilter and MIDImerger work also with ca. 100 mA. AC or DC doesn't matter, since the rectifier behind J1 converts to DC anyhow. Also the polarity has not to be taken into account.
Ok.. so I have a 9V 3A bench supply. Is that ok? Does it matter that it's 3A compared to the recommended 500 mA?
Also the polarity has not to be taken into account. This means connecting black or red either way round is fine right?
Just being careful :)

You can buy the real thing.

Did anything happen with this in the end? If not were there any more Red Negative options out there?

Am I right in thinking that with 2 DOUT modules...
(connected as shown in this image - http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_midibox64e.gif)
you could double the amount of LED's available for LED rings?
Are there any major implications of doing this? Would it require complex modification of the standard Midibox64e code?
thanks

Hi Roger, no I did not mean I wanted that 'pan pot' style single detent.. I was just using it as an example.
-
So in the case of a detented encoder you feel lots of little clicks as you rotate the encoder?
I'd not considered that is what it means.. I was thinking in terms of 'pan' style pots where there is a single detent in the centre.

I'm interested in peoples thoughts on encoders with pushbuttons...
Im guessing there is a trade off between how stiff the encoder is and accidental/unintended changing of the encoder value when pressing a button?
Sure if it's filter frequency it might not matter... if it was a note value it could :)
There are some at Smash TV

Is there anyone who is ordering 100 that would be willing to sell me 24?

Can I connect 24LED rings(consists of 8 leds) with one DoutX4 module??
If possible? thats good to me ..... I will connect 96 LED rigns with only 4 DoutX4 module... ^^
Hey pilgrims1 I want to do the same.. are you going for 8 LEDs per encoder? The only problem I can see with going for an even number of leds in a ring is not having a 'central' led... i.e. if you are doing a panning style control.
