Hey, I wanted to start this topic to figure out how people are getting their SID chips? What commodore 64's have what SID chips? etc.

Hey, I'm about to take the plunge and buy both the CORE and SID kits. My question is what PIC microcontroller should I have included with the CORE kit? Also, for those that already have an SID built how much does it rely on computer and the programs like MIDI SID patch editor? Finally, how much different are the SID V1 and V2? Thanks for the help.
