Dark times are ahead for midibox, dark times indeed. Mark my words.
Is that because of the locust swarms over Australia?

lol, thanks for the reply's.
I'm happy that it is the same as a ceramic, cause otherwise i could desolder them all :D
Greetz
I ran into this issue as well, not knowing the difference. I'm putting together a BOM for the MB-6582 and am following Wilba's part list. I have learned what Wilba had elaborated on. It mainly comes down to form factor ( niLS shoot me.)
mono
adjective
1. designating sound transmission or recording or reproduction over a single channel
noun
1. an acute disease characterized by fever and swollen lymph nodes and an abnormal increase of mononuclear leucocytes or monocytes in the bloodstream; not highly contagious; some believe it can be transmitted by kissing [syn: infectious mononucleosis]
Lithic
Lith"ic\, a. [Gr. ? of or belonging to stones, fr. li`qos stone: cf. F. lithique.]
1. Of or pertaining to stone; as, lithic architecture.
2. (Med.) Pertaining to the formation of uric-acid concretions (stone) in the bladder and other parts of the body; as, lithic diathesis.
Oh, that might not be a wanted side effect...
(?män·??lith·ik s??ram·ik k??pas·?d·?r)
(electronics) A capacitor that consists of thin dielectric layers interleaved with staggered metal-film electrodes; after leads are connected to alternate projecting ends of the electrodes, the assembly is compressed and sintered to form a solid monolithic block. :D that's more like it!

Just to add my 2bits, I purchased a replacement blue light bend wheel for the Juno 106. It took 2 months to arrive after the ebay auction was over, and he's based somewhere in Oklahoma. When the part finally arrived ( from HK ), it was mint, clean in full ESD bags and was fully operational. I even inspected the pcb, was impressed by the clone, and it was evident that he was very much more of an asset then a culprit. The original knob cap no longer fit, but I'm not that vain for a 24 year retro fit that still works to this day.ARgh! Again!
Why?
What's wrong with that seller?
Lots of HK guys do that. It's not like they're secretive about it.
Probably because your first language is Serbian and his first language is Chinese, and you're both talking English, in emails only. It's not exactly an efficient method of communication ;)
I want to put a very sudden stop to this. If this seller has done something wrong, and it can be proven, then please by all means provide the proof, and protect our beloved midiboxers from being ripped off.... But so far, I've seen a lot of people badmouthing him, all because one guy accused him of selling counterfeit goods, and a bunch of people jumped on the bandwagon. It should be noted that the person who accused him of this practice, chipforbrains, is another seller from HK, and is likely his direct competition, or maybe even himself, directing buyers towards the chipforbrains store where prices are higher. Whatever the reason, there is as yet NO PROOF, not even a convincing argument, that hongkongsuperseller has done anything wrong.
I won't stand for unfounded accusations against anyone here.

does anyone know if there is a supplier in Canada for the PT-10?
I need about 5 myself and would rather not have them come across the boarder.
Sorry about hijacking the thread BTW..
If no luck there's a North and Central Americas bulk order:

Even though there is no intention to have this confused with Doug's panel work, perhaps there is an opportunity to pool buying power, seeing as a number of people on Doug's list will be having Doug purchase cases within the U.S., and those cases will first be sent to Doug, also in the U.S.? Is this what was already going to be happening behind the scenes?
Anyway, it seems to make sense, though I am not really sure what everyone's arrangements are in this matter.
Doug and I have agreed to let the lists ride. At the end of the North and Central Americas tally, we will contact all participants to eliminate any chances of duplicates ( which has been pushed up to November 1st ). Doug appears to have much going on as he is sorting panels for multiple designs and fabricating 2 different types of enclosure alternatives, in addition to his own projects. On this bulk order, I will be handling the actual ordering, sending the panels to and receiving them from Doug, then shipping them out.
-
Hey there, any chance of being able to get these cases shipped outside of the US?
Is now set for a bulk order for North and Central America
The milling fee will be determined by Doug Wellington after the number of participants have been calculated. The final unit price is determined by the number of participants at the end of the run. If you cannot wait, there's always the unconceivable option of DIY.Also, what do you expect the cases and the panels to cost? Or do you not know that until you have the numbers.
Reason being is that I can get laser cutting done myself as I have a friend who is an industrial designer, but him doing a one off might cost more than this bulk offer....
But you put an 'N' down for the milling/screening option, right?

With all those 6582 base and CS pcbs about....
http://www.midibox.org/dokuwiki/PT10_bulk_Americas
After adding yourself to the list, please shoot me an email with your shipping details. Postage will be calculated as the actual cost to post, plus packaging. The PayPal invoice will include the handling fee in the postage amount.
Not to be confused with Doug Wellington's Panel (only and custom case) order.
Thanks to Wilba, Stryd_one and DW on this.
The Bulk Order has been extended to Dec 15th 2008 Jan 15, 2009.
Apologies to everyone for the delayed update.

Has this thread actually gone 7 whole days under stryd1's nose??? :o

I've been keeping myself busy just doing other things, and I get this wonderful email 2 weeks back stating the 6582 PCBs are available from SmashTV. Props to Wilba and SmashTV !! I'm on for 2 each.....!!

haha, it could be me for all i know, but being 6th on the list or so, it would be fairly disgraceful on my part!
I didn't add up properly for some sids from Wilba a few months back and was put on 2nd string. Learned from that, so I added my count to the total. ;D
-
Brooklyn over here, confirming pleasant arrival of 8 sids. ;D
Thanks Wilba.

I am game. Count me in for one.
