  1. I've got all the parts (except the PCB) for the old MB16 so I'd like to build the MB64 with 16 knobs and 8 buttons. I wasn't sure where to post the questions - the other projects all have their own section in the forum but I couldn't see one for the MB64. I know there's plenty of info (which is great!) but I'm not clear about where to post MB64 questions. Where do I post them?
  2. I have a couple of other questions too, but I'm not sure where to post them: 1. Is there a MidiBox64 section in the forum? I couldn't see one. 2. Is there any info available about connecting the various modules together? I'm not clear about how this is done. Are they connected with ribbon cable? 3. All the tutorials I've found for the MidiBox64 use a single PCB. Are there any more recent tutorials that explain a build using the modules? Cheers, Chris
  3. Yes, I was thinking that it might be easier to go with the newer system. Here's a list of what I've got: o PIC 16F877-20 o IC-Socket with 40 pins o Crystal: 20 MHz, parallel (not serial!) cut o Resistors: - 4 * 10 k - 1 * 1.8 k - 2 * 470 - 3 * 220 - 1 * 100 k o Potentiometers: - 8 * 10 k and 8 * instrumentation knobs - 1 * 10 k trimmpot o Capacitors: - 2 * 33 pF - 1 * 100 nF - 2 * 10 uF o Other semiconductors: - 1 * 74HC00 or 7400 or similar - 1 * Diode 1N4148 - 1 * CNY17-2 or simmilar optical coupler (CTR appr. 125%) o LC Display 2x16 o Buttons: 12 * push button switches (the things which are normaly opened and pop up immediately) o Switches: 4 * miniature toggle switches o 2 * 5-pin DIN connectors for MIDI In / Out o LEDs: - Green (MIDI-Data Indicator) - Red (Init Value Indicator) o Power Supply: - Transformer: AC (or DC) Power Adaptor, ca. 9 V AC or DC (not important), 0.5 A - Rectifier: B40C800 - El. Capacitor: 470 uF - Capacitor: 330 nF - Voltage regulator: uA 7805 - optional micro-fuse for 1 A with mount. Connect it between adaptor output and rectifier o Case o ONLY FOR THE 16 POT EXTENSION: o 2 * 4051 o 2 * 16 pin sockets o 8 additional Potentiometers The only thing I'm lacking is the PCB. Cheers, Chris
  4. Hi, Way back in 2003, I was planning to make a MidiBoxPlus16. I bought all the components except the PCB. In late-2003 I had to move overseas so I never got the chance to make the MidiBox. Recently, I was cleaning out some cupboards and came across the parts in a box. I'd like to finish the project, however I realise that the MidiBoxPlus16 has been superceded by by MIOS, etc. Is there anywhere that I can get a MidiBoxPlus16 PCB? Does anyone have one lying around that they would be willing to part with? Cheers, Chris
