Yes, it should be able to detect a MIOS8 core. Then you need to upload the bootloader through midi. After that you can upload the application.
-
As this is an userproject maybe you can PM pcbatterij.

http://www.squarp.net/index.html looks pretty cool. Lots of features the MBSeq has. The euclidian display looks pretty sweet.
Every time I see a cool new sequencer feature my first thoughts are: I wonder when TK will implement that?
What feature is is that?
-
I totally agree, but i think it's more feature rich then the hardware options mentioned earlier. For that price i am sure you can build at least 2 Seq4 in a metal case

I think the 50cm to the midi sockets is not a problem. I have midi cables of 5mtr.

I think your information is slightly out-dated. The most current core is STM32F4 based. The PIC core is at the end of capabilities. Your PIC is not even supported and would require you to rewrite code.
I would recommend you move to the STM32F4, it's not that expensive. You can then use the Midibox NG project which is aimed at controllers.

J16 would be my guess too. You will want SPI with DMA.

I think the four 8x2 LRE are the big problem now

Jeez guys, this looks really awesome. Makes me proud to be part of the MB community
This thing looks to be massive with 24 oleds and 32 encoders

The Sammich needs a stereo jack.
If the SammichSID contains 2 SID chips, you should have a stereo sound.... if you play the same sound on both chips
-
According to the wiki the processor option should be formatted like: -p18F4685. I see in your cmd example that gpasm is using -p p18F4685.

Lookin´ very nice, man! :-)
Especially the linear regs are good for AOUT stuff - methinks using switchers (like in those commonly available "open frame psus") are not top notch for feeding into modular stuff...
Many greets,
Peter
If you want to use a linear regulator for modular stuff, wouldn't you rather use an LM317/337?
-
I don't think that regulator will be able to power the whole box. It's only 0,5A. I would recommend getting the 1.0A version (http://www.mouser.de/ProductDetail/RECOM-Power/R-78C50-10/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMt6Q9lZSPl3RYmx3feB3IQNN76eLdDNaE8%3d)

It will work fine with 6. It's not required to fill all sockets.
-
You need to select the LPC13/LPC17/LCP18 option
-
Just a suggestion, maybe it's time to ask someone on this forum to fix it for you. Personally i would not mind to have a look, but i won't have time till atleast first week of october.
-
If you want i might be able to help you. But it's probably cheaper to have someone in Italy help you out. I know that Antix is based in Napoli. Not sure though if he has the time.
-
If you buy it at mouser there is a 5 euro price difference. Not sure if that qualifies as much more expensive
-
The seller did sell you the wrong board though. Maybe you can get your money back. The description clearly says STM32F407.
