Tanstaafl Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 I believe I am ready to take the plunge and build an MB-SEQIt's not clear about the modules required.... I want to build one based upon TK's, however, I want to control ALL of my synths.I have the following modules that I might want to control with a MB-Seq:Korg MS-2000RPaia 9700S (midiboxified with MidiBox CV)Paia SSM / CEM Minimoog clone (midiboxified with MidiBox CV)Moog Modular V (midiboxified)Minimoog V (midiboxified)Kurzweil K2000SSmash... is it gonna be 200 Bux or 1000 Bux for all the MidiBox controlling bits? (Core, DinX4s, Douts, Encoders, LED's, etc... )TIAgb
stryd_one Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Comon man you can figure it out... just decide upon a design, count up the parts you need, and get your calculator out :)
Tanstaafl Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 That particular answer does not help, Stryde.....The confusion on my part involves.... the core cpu... which?...how many DinX4's? how many encoders....and do I need IIC modules?if I need to control analog synths, how many midibox cv's?simple questions with maybe not so simple answers... just thought I would ask.gb
stryd_one Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 That particular answer does not help, Stryde.....It's not meant to help you, it's meant to encourage you to help yourself. DIY remember ;)The confusion on my part involves.... the core cpu... which?...Searchhow many DinX4's? how many encoders....Depends on your design. and do I need IIC modules?Depends on your designif I need to control analog synths, how many midibox cv's?Depends on your design
Tanstaafl Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 Yeah, guess I will figure it out on my own... that always seems to be the best way.built 5 or 6 midiboxes so far, just thought I would ask.silly me, asking for help...Have a better one!
stryd_one Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 Asking for help is always encouraged, but without knowing your design it's impossible to say... So, first you should help yourself, then we can help you :)For example, if you read the ucapps.de page, you'll already know that:MIDIbox SEQ V3 is the reincarnation of the project, based on the bigger PIC18F4620And on the same page you can find:OptionsSo you see, that the answers to your questions are already mostly answered. If you show us that you have been to these pages, and done some work on it, but still have some questions... Then we can help.
Tanstaafl Posted May 3, 2008 Author Report Posted May 3, 2008 yep, been there, done that...no more questionsActually built a few sequencers back in the 80's... all analog drove my minimoog and the modulars I had built over the years....I'll keep you posted on progress
