intellijel
Is 2mm aluminum ok for a frontpanel? What is an ideal thickness for a durable panel (e.g. does not dent too easily)
stryd_one
I reckon I'd dent 2mm alu with a sneeze. Steel, maybe......3-5mm seems to be standard.
ilmenator
I reckon I'd dent 2mm alu with a sneeze. Some sneeze you have. I bet it's only because you don't blow your nose ;D.
/tilted/
It all depends.(I must stop answering posts with "it all depends", but it does...)Mostly it depends on the size of the panel. The bigger the panel is (length by width) the thicker you should make it. Also of course if it's a rack panel, you'll need enough strength to hold the whole case up.So what is the size of the panel you are proposing? Wilba
I reckon I'd dent 2mm alu with a sneeze. Steel, maybe......Dream on. 1.5mm aluminium is pretty tough, as used in the PT-10 case and MB-6582. You could not dent it through normal use.I would probably choose 3mm for a rack case though.
