buryplo Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 Hi,I've started to build a MidiBox Sid. The core is working fine (I can upload application, the lcd is working).I 've plugged the sid module and checked the voltages, all OK. So I put the ICs in the socket. The LCD doesn't display anything but I still can upload application. I'v try removing the ICs and when I removed IC3 my LCD is working again.I've no idea where the problem is, i've no short or cut in the PCB. If anyone know how to solve this problem.Buryplo
SLP Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 IC inserted the right way round?check the connection between the SID-Pcb and the CORE-Pcb.
buryplo Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 The IC are in the right way and the SID Mdule is right connected to the core

buryplo Posted August 17, 2008 Author Report Posted August 17, 2008 I use this schematic http://ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_lcd_4bit.pdf and left D0/D3 unconnected.Should I connect them to ground???The strange thing is that the lcd works until I connect sid module's IC3Buryplo
SLP Posted August 17, 2008 Report Posted August 17, 2008 http://ucapps.de/midibox_sid/mbsid_v2_communication.pdfdo you have the Diode and the 1k Resistor like shown here?have you tried to exchange IC2 and IC3? perhaps one of them is damaged.
