Guest smurky
Hi Folks,Forgive me if this is a stupid newbie question (but I have been searching the forums pretty diligently...).If I understand this Tip & Tricks topic correctly:http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,3216.0.htmlThen it is possible to connect more than 64 buttons to a MIDIbox64, the "up to 64 buttons" limit is actually an "up to 2 * DINX4" limit." Is this the case? Can I build a MIDIbox64 that has two 8x8 button matrices (32 pins), 30 buttons standard connection (30 pins), 1 rotary encoder replacing +/- buttons (2 pins), and 64 analog ins? stryd_one
Welcome aboard!Well yes and no.... the hardware is capable of interfacing with >64 buttons (as per ucapps.de you can find the limit, which is usually given as 128, but actually means 4*DINx4)The MB64 app only supports 64 buttons, in a non-matrix configuration. I think that old post you found is intended as a concept, but was not ever actually implemented in the software. There was another thread about using a matrix on MB64 recently. If you're a bit clever with your PIC ASM, perhaps you could make your concept work....
Guest smurky
Thanks for the swift response. My questions no longer have anything to do with MIDIbox64, so I'm hijacking this topic:http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php?topic=11542.
stryd_one
LOL. That thread seems to have gone quiet, but not for too long... the hijack/continuation seems appropriate :) Luck!
