Poeloq
Hi guys!I have a *very* big problem with my PC... I was typing a text in notepad for the portal, when suddenly the monitor went off. I thought I had hit the powerswitch under my desk, but then I noticed the monitor LED was flashing (meaning on, but no signal), also the PC was also still on. I switched the PC off manually, and tried to put it back on. The PC started, ther HDD started to spin (maybe - i dont exactly know, the HDD LED is on for longer than normal), but the light on my opticalmouse does not go on and the monitor still does not get a signal. I then tried all conections on a) the PC b) the monitor. Still nothing. I really do not know what to do! Does anybody know anything about this problem? kleinerichbinich
hm this can be very different things! check the connections inside your computer. maybe the prozessor has not the right contact(this makes a black screen and nothing happens)! what is about the BIOS of your PC? can you get into it or is the screen still blank? you can try another monitor, too. hm and then i don´t know more what to do ;(these are all the things i would test...good luck! Poeloq
I cant get into the BIOS as I can not see anything on the screen... I will have a look inside tomorrow. Its always such a hassle with the tower (massive and robust big tower = lots of parts and screws)!

goyousalukis
Yes, I have had to replace about 10 PSUs in my office. Luckily none of the computers were damaged when they blew. I hope yours is ok too.
Steven_C
whoa! I hope the rest of your PC is OK!Smoke was coming out the back of my Mac once, then I realised it was actually a bad IEC mains lead, arcing between the plug and the PSU!
