new batch lcd dosnt turn on and to big

I just built my sammichSID and the new lcd dosnt fit and looks different the the ones pictured. I also have checked all the voltages and they where all right. Pluse I check for cold points. The lcd dosnt light up at all but it will light up a little led if I put it to the led holes. Also its not the contrast vr I tryed it and no luck. Any help would be great
