LCD info only. Possible ?

Hi !

I asked this question on the French forum already but I thought it would be interesting to ask it in the multilingual area.

I should receive a Behringer BCF 2000 controler in a few weeks for a review in a magazine, and if it suits my needs, I may keep it.

BUT ! This controller does not offer a LCD display with parameter feedback from the sequencer.

So my question is : is it possible to build a "mini" midiBox that would only feature a LCD display just in order to display the track parameters. This mini MB would be used in parallel with the Behringer interface.

But, I have one problem with this system. When switching fader banks on the Behringer, the banks won't switch on the MB, will they ?

I think building a small MB would be a good way to start for me. And once I get familiar with the concepts I shall throw the Behringer away and construct a real MB (Mackie emulation).

Thanks for your help.

Hi !

No, I am talking about track parameters, like volume level, pan level, effect send level and so on.

It seems that the MidiMon displays MIDI parameters only, which is not really what I'd like.

Thanks for your answer, anyway  ;)

i guess you could build the LC without the faders etc but not a lot of point as i dont think you can have 2 controllers on one set of peramiters under the LC protocall

It is all midi messages when it comes down to it.....

You could program a custom app to convert the midi messages to names and values like "Track 1 Vol : 127"

or something like that. I'm not too sure on the specifics of how to do it, but it shouldnt be too hard.
