Guest drummond Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Hi,Can the mechanical keys found in computer keyboards (A, S, D, F etc) be used as buttons in a MIDIBOX? ;) If they can, they would be nice for play, stop and other transport buttons. And it's easy to remove the letters painted on them and paint something else (or even change its color). ???Please don't answer that I should just use the keyboard instead ;D Quote

Guest fluoroscopic Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Most computer keyboards I have taken apart, have a large membrane that the key presses the membrane closing two contacts on a pcb. I don't think it would really be usable without using the whole thing. The samchillian does just this. No construction details though.http://www.samchillian.com/aboutsam.htmlIf you are thinking of just using a key-cap on some other momentary switch, a drill and some glue should work. (: Quote
