MIDIBox Time Code

Anyone done any work on creating a MIDIBox for converting an analog LTC (linear time code) signal to MTC (MIDI time code)? This could be a very usefull little device for us using analog tape machines, but not wanting to spend the big bucks on dedicated synchronizers.
