MIDI clock generator with tap tempo

I have recently purchased an old Lexicon LXP-5. The thing I miss in the unit a lot is lack of tap tempo for delay effects.

LXP-5 can be synchronized to external MIDI clock so I think that I could connect it to some MIDI clock source that I could tap tempo with. The problem would be solved.

Unfortunately I don't know about any controller that can generate MIDI clock. Drum synths and sequencers are to expensive.

Could some of you give me a piece of advice?

Maybe there is some inexpensive device that fit my requirements? Or maybe it is not so difficult to make a DIY unit...
