thedepths Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 HelloI'm looking for anybody that has a clue about whether there is any software available to SPLIT an incoming (from keyboard to computer) midi signal by KEYBOARD ZONE into different midi channels. Please email me at thedepths@earthlink.net if you know any app that can do this for MAC, or if you think you might accomplish it. There might be funding available for development, if it doesn't allready exist. ThanksJM ??? Quote
moxi Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 you can still do this with LOGIC Audio in the environment page , and in cubase , you can also do this on pc using synth édit ,so i suppose you can do that with maxMSP and other apps like this... Quote
adamjking Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 Can you explain what you mean by 'keyboard zone'? I'm sure it'd be pretty trivial to create a small app using Java, though Java 1.5 (with improved MIDI support) isn't available for the Mac yet I believe. Quote
moxi Posted March 30, 2005 Report Posted March 30, 2005 e.g. your keyboard is sending events on channel 1 , and the app split note upper C4 to channel 1 and notes beside C4 to channel 2 , it's the classic keybord split fonction you can find on many multitimbral synth (one part of the keyboard play the bass (or what you want) ,the other the pad ( or what you want).. thedepths Posted March 31, 2005 Author Report Posted March 31, 2005 Moxi, I since found the Plogue website, their app can do it all, even splitting by zones to different apps. I am interested how it can be done in logic and cubase...I thought Logic was only recently multitimbral, and still not so smoothly so. Tell me I'm wrong!JM Quote
moxi Posted March 31, 2005 Report Posted March 31, 2005 it's possible in Logic in the environment windows ,simply use the module that filter events ,i don't remenber exactly how to do but i've already done one some time ago.I can send you a .LSO file to load in logic with such a splitter if you can wait until tomorrow..or too later in the night...
