hello all,

i am looking to build my own controller eventually, and have just begun reading about everything here and on the ucapps.de site. I have plenty to go, but am positive i will be able to learn and do all this  ;D

for now im hoping someone can help me figure out if i can mod my BCR2000.

http://www.behringer.com/BCR2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG.

i use it to control Ableton Live (http://www.ableton.com), live. I love it! and combined with plogue Bidule http://www.plogue.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=21&Itemid=35

i am controlling things in amazing ways.

Anyways, a few things ive thought about doing to the BCR (reminder - my knowledge of electronics, PCB's, etc, is little to none ..now.)

-changing LED ring colors on SOME pots.

-adding a row of 8 small buttons

either between rows of encoders, horizontally, or replacing verti/horiz              row(s) of encoders.

replacing encoders with higher quality ones, with more resistance, like the feel of a high quality DJ mixer like this Rane http://www.rane.com/mp2016a.html or the V6 http://www.xone.co.uk/.

i dont know if to replace the encoders would be possible with just the outer part, or involves the "pots," or if it's even doable according to the construction of the BCR2000.

any info will be awesome, and help me learn.

another somewhat related Question -, with a MIDIbox, will I be able to create rows of 8 buttons, with LED's, but more importantly, withe some kind of toggle  function (hardware dependant?) that when i press one of the 8 buttons in a group, it stays "down" or depressed. And when i press another in that group, it depresses and the other pops up?

cheers

ben
