Is it true that any LCD -can- work with LC?

Is it true that any character LCD can be made to work properly with the MIDIBOX LC?

I ask because I might be able to get a supply of 2 line LCD panels (with controller PCB) large enough to span 8 channel strips.

it depends on the controller of the LCD. I think it's always to possible to make it works, but the driver for a LCD driver chip may be not already implemented.

is it possible to have more info on those LCD? is it possible to order some?  ;D

No specs as yet. I might even be buying it without knowing if it has a controller PCB attached to it.

But as soon as I DO know anything, I'll let you fellows know, cos I sure as hell ain't going to know how to implement it. :)
