i found a good Infra Red sensor to add to the MidiBox64 in the place of a pot or fader, this sensor is greate because you can do the same of a fader but in the air, like moving the hand, the page of thssi sensor is this one

http://www.acroname.com/robotics/parts/R48-IR12.html

But the problem I have is that the output of this IR is from 0 to 3 V, and what I need If Im not wrong is beetwen 0 and 5!

If someone knows how to solve this , would be greate!!

Thank you very to everybody

for sure you need to add some electronics to transform these -0.3/+0.3V into 0/5V  :-/

but maybe not necessary to reach the 5v, and you can adjust the "pot" range in the software (i think we speak about scaling  here). Not tested as my midibox is not finished, but i think it's the way it works.

:P

As far are my mathematics lesson at school ...

IF Vcc=5v

and voltage output range Vo=-0.3V at 10 cm

and voltage output range Vo=Vcc+0.3V at 80 cm

The IR detector feed with 5V will out -0.3V (closest detection) to 5.3V (far detection)

So it must work ... protection the chip pinput with a 5V zener diode may be ...
