Jaicen
Ok, this may seem like a stupid question and may even have been answered already but I was wondering about all those old C64 that have had their chips taken. Is it still possible to boot them and use the computer without sound?? Or does the chip perform other logic functions needed. Anybody know???*J
thefRont
afaik you won't be able to use the joystick ports without a SID because they are connected to the SID in a C64
Jurbo
You can use a c64 without a sound chip. Joysticks will work, too. What will not work, are paddle controllers (controllers with a potentiometer).
Jaicen
Right that's excellent then. I was kinda hoping that I could still use one of the C64's. I guess it's just to alleviate the guilt I feel at taking their hearts :'(
