Gamport Connection problems

I am having a problem with uploading mios to my pic via midi, the optocoupler has been removed and R6 replaced with a 100k resistor (actually an 82k and an 18k in series). The core is connected to my pc via the gameport connection over J11. I have tested the gameport connection loopback by shorting pins 2 and 3 on J11, and it is working fine. Also I am recieving proper messages from the bootstrap loader every 2 seconds. Whenever I try to upload mios nothing happens I just keep receiving the upload ready message from the bootstrap loader. Any Idea what could be wrong? (also I have tried this with and without the 100k resistor-no luck).

Forget it I should have checked my wiring. After hours of debuging ( nearly a whole night in fact), I was testing the rx and tx gamport ouputs again when I realized I had switched ground and rx on J11. Oh well, all is fine now.
