stryd_one Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Hey midiboxers,I am reallly hoping that one of you might be able to ID this part. It's labelled 'H4K' and appears to be 5 pins, maybe 6 with one cut, in an SMD package. This is from an SRAM based memory expansion for a synth if that helps at all....Thanks in advance!!
Mr modnaR Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 all i found so far is the name of the pin configuration, which is: SOT23-5dunno if that helps you at all. ???
fluke Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Do you know what part of the circuit it's in? If in the main power supply lines, it could be some sort of filter or regulator. If it's in the control lines, it might be a clock generator or transistor. I'm grasping at straws here though, it could be anything. I've seen a LM317 used as a high wattage resistor.
stryd_one Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 That's exactly what I said fluke :) I feel much more confident thinking that now. I do have a pic of both sides of the board, but unfortunately the components obscure the tracks, so it's very hard to tell what is wired to where :( I think this guy might have to desolder his existing board in order to find out....PS Hey I dig the new signature LOL
Mr modnaR Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 fyi, i did a search on farnell's website, and all that came up in that SOT23-5 package were: a regulator (3.0V), an op-amp, and the rest (all 23 of them) were transistors.
ilmenator Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 It might be a regulator: you could check what type of SRAM voltage (5V, 3V) you have on your memory expansion. Best regards, ilmenator
stryd_one Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 Yeh it's a 3v SRAM IC and I was thinking that maybe the synth runs a higher voltage internally... General concensus seems to be that it's that SOT23-5 VREG, thanks guys!
