Mios upload problem

First let me answer some questions to Michael:

Yes, I burned v1.2 bootloader myself. I burned it with Mikroelektronika EasyPic development board.

I ordered componets from Mike's midishop. I ordered 2 PIC's, just in case.

I also tried by disconecting that ground wire from midi out of the core - but that didn't help.

And now, something completely diferent:

MIOS is on the PIC!!!

LCD says "Ready."

How?

So far I used dell notebook with extern sound card - TASCAM US122

As I saw on this forum, sometimes sound card could make problems, so I decided to try it on other card - Sound Blaster Live on my PC - it worked first time. Now I'm killing my self because I didn't try this before, and saved you and myself a lot of trouble.

Anyway - I'm not still sure if the sound card is the problem - maybe it is different java installed. I'll experiment some more this weekend and when I see what was the reason, I'll post it on forum to save someone else of loosing so much time.

Anyway, I'm very happy that mios is on the PIC, and I'm going to programm it now for a while.

Thank you all for all suggestions, and please forgive me if I missguided you.

I'll be back

Ante

hello,

I've just experienced the exact same problem.

Read this long post, and acknowledged each step.

then used another computer (still with internal AC97 soundcard) and the programming process went OK !

So i have to say the conclusion of this thread was interesting to me.

Starting a new board, thanks again for this great diy project !
