mat_s Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Hi all, i was reading in the forum to ground the audio in of the sid to reduce noise. But I would want to have a jack for the audio in though. Is the solution to get one of these "switch jack" socket so that when no jack is plugged the audio in would be grounded ?is this the way these jack socket work ? thanks :)
Lall Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Hi,Indeed, they work as you described. The ones I've seen so far had six pads, three on each sides (they were stereo jacks). When nothing is inserted, there's a piece of metal making the bridge between the two sides. When a plug is inserted, the piece of metal is bended and only touches one side. That side should be connected to the electronics and the other side should be grounded.Best regards,Lall
mat_s Posted April 5, 2007 Author Report Posted April 5, 2007 excellent, thanks for the confirmation. :)
