MTE Posted April 23, 2007 Report Share Posted April 23, 2007 HiYesterday my Midicable got broken.....dunno why, it dosnt send or receive anything >:( checked it with my multimeter, but only the ground pins make a beep...so I build one myself like described here :15-pin SUB-D 5-pin DIN (Pins in front-sight of the Plugs)1 8 2o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o o 5 o o 4 9 15 3 o o 1MIDI-In Pins : MIDI-Out Pins :SUB-D DIN SUB-D DIN4 -> 2 8 -> 4 8 -> 4 12 -> 5 15 -> 5Now I tested to upload some code with my self-soldered cable to my MB but it dosnt....MIOSStudio receives midisignals when I turn pots/encoders but the uploads dosnt run :(Now my Question :Do I need make a optocoupled Cable like in the schematic here ?Best RegardsMTE Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

MTE Posted April 24, 2007 Author Report Share Posted April 24, 2007 Which Transistor should I use an how to solder it ?I didnt understand this schematic -> http://www.midi.org/images/midiadap.gif Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
stryd_one Posted April 24, 2007 Report Share Posted April 24, 2007 I'm lost in this kinda thing but the "done thing" seems to be a 7404... Maybe these will help. Maybe they will totally balls the whole thing up ;DJoystick Adapter NOTES:1. A good choice for the Optoisolator 6N137. A 6N138 will work, but is slower.2. Resistors are 5%3. Inverter A can be an IC or a transistor.4. It is extremely important not to ground pin 2 of the MIDI IN connector. A noise-causing ground loop will result if you do. Pin 2 of the MIDI OUT connector should be grounded. That way the shield of the MIDI cable will be grounded on one end as desired.http://www.kpsec.freeuk.com/trancirc.htmhttp://www.troikaranch.org/schematic.htmlhttp://www.tigoe.net/pcomp/midi.shtmlhttp://www.tigoe.net/pcomp/labs/lab-midi-other.shtml Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
