SLP Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 I don't know If I understood this right:Does the blue line of the CAN-connection mean that TX and RX are connected ?!?http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid/mbsid_v2_communication.pdfmatthias Quote
stryd_one Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 You got it dude. I did a double take at that too hehehehIt's called a one-wire wired-AND CAN bus... google has the goss, but this is a pretty good summary IMOhttp://www.dcd.pl/ashow.php?page=can-protocol says:There are two possible bus states - called "dominant" and "recessive". They are usually (but not always) equal to logic "Zero" and "One". Bus logic uses a "Wired-AND" mechanism, that is, "dominant" bits (zeros) overwrite the "recessive" bits (ones). Only if all nodes transmit recessive bits, the bus is in recessive state. If only one node transmit dominant bits it forces dominant bus state. That mechanism is used for arbitration. You can probably see how this is done with the diodes and the line attached to 5V... Quote
MTE Posted May 5, 2007 Report Posted May 5, 2007 so thats simple to solder the diode at the bottom of the Core between D2 & D3 of LCD-Output ;) Quote

SLP Posted May 12, 2007 Author Report Posted May 12, 2007 Thank you! :)13MB nonstop with a 56k modem.... that's kinda suicide ;)(...another useless post on my long way to a midibox guru ;D) Quote
stryd_one Posted May 12, 2007 Report Posted May 12, 2007 No worries dude.Just while we're wasting bandwidth to try and look pro ;) A little advice for you and everyone else:I HIGHLY recommend going into the java control panel after installation and turning off the internet update. It'll be a bandwidth hog for you, and the update is notorious for screwing it all up and making errors like this one: Messed up Start/Taskbar Graphics and lord knows what else... Quote
