Only 1,62 V at the 5 V output of the improved PSU

Hello,

I get only 1,62 V at the 5 V output of the improved 4xSID PSU. If I measuren the 14 V output I get 14,19 V - that seems to be OK. But what is wrong with the 5 V output? Can anybody help?

Hello,

that's very curious. When I test the voltage directly at the C64 psu plug, I get 10 V. I had the 5 V before I connected the improved PSU to the Core Module. But I can't find an error at the Core Module (as recommended the 7805 is not stuffed and I have shortened the input/output line at the board and connected the psu to the J2). Mhmmm, I'll test the Core Module again later. I'll stuff the 7805 and test the Core Module with a cheaper wallwart, maybe there is still an error. But another question, can I destroy the C64 Plug by an error at the Core Module?

Hello,

Hello,

second measuring directly at the C64 PSU:

At the 5 V DC = 8,9 V

At the 9 V AC = 10,2 V

At the 5 V improved PSU 2,3 V

At the 14 V improved PSU 17,6 V

I think I found the failure. It is a short circuit / loose connection between 5 V + and - at the original DIN Connector from the C64. The circuit indicator peeps sometimes if i connect it between the + and the - PIN-connection (the C64 PSU is not connectet during the test). Or is it due to the unloading of the capacitor(s)?

Nevetheless, the C64 PSU is damaged  :'(
