maki Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Hello!I am interested in small multi-sensor touch-and-pressure devices that could be used to transmitt polyaftertouch but there is nothing on the market. Maybie I could make something I need if I get answers on some questions. I wonder if you could tak a look at this page:http://www.physikinstrumente.com/en/products/prdetail.php?sortnr=1008001) I wonder if those 2x2x2mm elements could be used as pressure and strike sensors?2) If answer on 1) is yes then how can I test if they respond with signal that can be used in MIDI applications? And how can I change their respons if they do not respond as I want?3) If answer on 1) is no than do you know any devices in similar size that could be used as pressure and touch sensor.4) Are there any small multi-sensor touch-and-pressure devices that could be used to transmitt polyaftertouch? Google is not helping me...

seppoman Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(being impatient? It´s sunday, never much traffic here.Anyway: Piezos are not what you need. They only pick up very fast changes (like e.g. hitting a drum pad) but won´t sense anything without change. For aftertouch you need a sensor that continually gives the actual pressure. Look for "FSR" (Force sensing resistor). These are flat pads that change resistance the more you press them. they´re not really cheap, but probably cheaper than the piezos from your link. Seppoman
