jeb Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 hello,i've made several small midiboxes (one year ago... see my other post)... i'm currently building a new one, and i have one or two small questions...1) what range has been tested for power ? is 12V AC ok or too much ?2) is there an interface for a power led (i don't want to build a ?OUT module for this!)3) i have 50 kohm faders... will it be okay ? i remember i had problems with100k pots... will these 50k be okay ? if not, i don't remember how to makethem work (i cannot replace them for my specific project!!) WITHOUT jitter...any idea ?thanks in advance!
SLP Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 1) I think the 7805 can handle up to 18V input voltage.2)Why don't you just connect a LED with a resistor in series after or before the 7805?3)they *should* work. I'm not sure. Why don't you just test one on one of your working MBs?matthias
Tanstaafl Posted December 10, 2007 Report Posted December 10, 2007 Jeb, I use a 13 volt ac wall wart with mine, no problems. I also use 50k pots on my MoogModularV / MidiBox, some of the wires are longer than 18 inches so I occasionally get some jitter in those lines, changing to 10k pots on those farther runs seems to clear the jitter problems for me.hope this helps,gb
