  1. sold! thanks to all
  2. Thanks strophlex I live in Germany now and I am currently talking to skunks to sell the unit. best regards, Joeri
  3. I am selling this allmost completely build MB6582 with all parts included. I stopped this project because I had 2 bad power supplys and didnt have the time to look for a decent old one when I needed it. I have had the board sent to strophlex and he confirmed it was working with his power supply. I am looking for 450 euro, shipping can be to anywhere, payment trough bank transfer or paypall best regards, Joeri
  4. the bottom ones measure 9vac but only the left one of the middle pads measures 5v, is this ok? next I measure the switch or? thanks, best regards, Joeri
  5. ok, so looking at MB-6582_Base_PCB_Mono.pdf we have 7 contact points on the back of the power connector J1 The bottom ones are 9v? and the middle one on the left is 5 v? What are the other ones? best regards, Joeri
  6. So how do the pins underneath the test pads measure out with you guys? If I can confirm that this psu works, I can exclude this from being the problem. Orange hand: So in case of the psu with 5v on pin 5, is it normal to not measure it on the test pad? thanks!
  7. Well, sadly enough that pin 4 on my psu measures nothing, it is pin 5 on the other side of pin 2 that measures 5v (I am orienting my connecter the same way as you with the opening on top) There seems to be many different c64 power supply` s in rotation. thanks, best regards, Joeri
  8. The pin labeled 5 on the picture above mates with pin 5 here: http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/Commodore_C64_Power_Supply Following that same pinout, pin 4 is not assigned on my power supply. So if pin 4 on the above picture I posted mates with the 5v trace, I can change the cables inside the wire to give 5v to pin 4?
  9. -PSU is still ok -no continuity between inner pads -continuity between pin 2 and gnd -no continuity between pin 5 and 5v (continuity between pin 4 and 5v)
  10. female power connector on the board best regards, Joeri
  11. ok, that explains a lot. Now the power supply measures ok. So doing this one step at a time, I looked at the base pcb pdf and turned the board around with the psu connected and the switch off. the outer lugs measure 9vac but when I measure the inner lugs (red probe on 5v, black probe on gnd) it measure nothing. thanks for the patience :) It` s really appreciated. best regards, Joeri
  12. 5 and 2 are ok, But when I measure ground (1 or 3) against 6 or 7 I get strange readings (and I do know how to set the multimeter to AC) thanks
  13. Today I measured the psu again and found that according to http://www.allpinouts.org/index.php/Commodore_C64_Power_Supply (looking at the picture as a MALE connector) I get 5vdc between pins 2 and 5 and only there but the 9vac confuses me, I get 9vac between pins 2 and 7, and 5vac (sometimes 12 or 2) between pins 1 and 6 or 3 and 7 Is this correct? thanks
  14. ok, So I got a ``new`` power supply in the mail today and the 7 pins measure out fine, what` s the next thing to do considering the 2 almost broken pads and the bridge that is gone. I don` t want to brake something so I am taking it slow this time. best regards, Joeri
  15. I also measured the psu pins and I have a correct 5VDC pin and a 9VAC pin I know, that was before, who knows how I broke the psu? I have a new c64 psu on the way. I also took it apart and it seems it doesn` t have an internal fuse, so something must be broken. I will get there eventually :) technobreath: the psu was fine before, it seems to be broken now... the beginning and end checks I understand, it` s when it comes to understanding the circuit itself and looking for errors there when I need some help. Thanks everybody, I will post next resulst when my new psu is in. best regards, Joeri
