  1. This Shruthi was bought by myself off of ebay from a builder in Romania. He seems too have followed the design by using his own PCB. He also used his own case that gives it a really unique look. It has a very old school video game era look about it. I really like this Shruthi… but regrettably I need to downsize my setup and recoup some money. I am selling it for a little cheaper than what I paid. The SSM2044 analog filter sounds NICE and is the same one used in the Korg Polysix and EMU SP1200. It needs to have the output jack filed down with a grinder or dremel to allow a better connection with the tounges inside the jack that touch the TRS cable tip. There are random extreme drops in volume that can only be fixed if one reseats or replugs the cable back in the jack with a good amount of force. This shouldn't be hard to fix if you have the tools. I unfortunately do not. $250 + shipping If nobody responds soon I will put it on ebay and link the auction here. I am located in the US. Thanks!
  2. So I tried to swap the filter caps near the SID sockets so I could use 8580 chips instead of 6581 and noticed that the previous owner who built the unit didn't use the machine strips for them as recommended per the build guide. I have had a heck of a time trying to unsolder the little buggers and there is still residual metal down in the hole that I am afraid to try my hand at heating up with the iron. I want to let a more experienced builder revive this Sammich and bring it back to it's state of former glory. Because it is in a non-functioning state and will take some tinkering... I am letting her go for the fair price of $250 plus shipping. I have since bought another sammichSID and won't really be needing this one.. so my motivation to fix it myself is kinda low. for tldr: $250 + shipping. Would Possibly trade for a desktop Waldorf Blofeld. Let me know if you wanna try to arrange it. I live in Texas. PM me Posting pic soon
  3. I have two sammichSIDs (one is currently mangled to pieces in a box awaiting repair). Is it possible to connect them together via midi and double up on polyphony?
  4. I'm guilty then. I haven't swapped the SIDs yet, but I have played with the awesome ctrlr. Sadly I have not found a way to overcome this problem by using it. I will keep trying though. 3 note stereo polyphony is nice, but six mono notes would make this synth truly an 8-bit monster.
  5. I tried using the MPC 1000 with different channel assignments and am able to achieve the same effect as changing channels in MIOS studio. But still the lights come on and there is no sound. Also, playing with the filter hasn't made a difference. I may just swap both SIDs and see if that helps. What kind of beer you drink TK?
  6. Messing around with MIOS Studio I noticed that when having each ins assigned to an OSC using the VAs option, If I change the MIDI channel, each channel corresponds with one voice. Chn.1 - 01, Chn. 6 - 06, etc... Still though... chn.3-6 outputs no sound. If I put every voice on channel one, It just sounds like Lead Engine in that it stacks all three voices in unison and all LEDs light up. No polyphony.
  7. When giving voices 3-6 each a dedicated osc from 3-6, I still get the same effect. In this state each instrument is given a note range on the keyboard of 14 notes. acting like 6 mono instruments that are all mixed on the output and have a limited note range. Last Tried Settings: example: CFG: ins 1 VAs01 Pol * Ins: SID:1*** Ins:1 Chn:1 SpL:C-0 SpU:B-0, Ins:2 Chn:1 SpL:C-1 SpU:B-1, Ins:3 Chn:1 SpL:C-2 SpU:B-2...........etc. Shift: SID1:LR E.ML Ply:* FIL: SID1*** ACh:LR Min:000 Max:600 Log:o Still no right channel mono voices. Is this because the right SID is a slave?
  8. Thanks for the clarification on the SID option. Are you saying that I NEED to assign channels and split zones, or that that is the cause of the problem? I will tinker when I get home.
  9. Whenever I assign a voice to any instrument I only get one mono note and one row of lights on the left side. Ins=1 VAs=01,Ins=2 VAs=02....etc Keep in mind that in the SID menu I can only select one SID.
  10. I have been reading the manual trying to find a clue about this... So forgive me if I missed something obvious. I was under the impression that if the multi-engine was put in mono mode that there would be 6 mono-voice polyphony. I get three sounded notes on the left side, and three silent ones on the right side. Also I can only select one SID. The menu doesn't display two. Both SIDs are working because stereo mode sounds fine with three voice polyphony. Here is a video displaying my problem. You might need to turn up your volume.
  11. Good idea. I will try that when I get home. Thanks.
  12. The caps are most definitely soldered through the holes where the machine strips should go. The person who built it didn't follow the instructions in the guide about that. Now I have attempted to do a precision de-soldering job and it is progressing in a very sloppy manner sadly..
