  1. Ciao Thorsten,

I am  interested in this variant.

The suggestion i can give to improve the behave of  MBSID are the followings:

    -Values of 127 instead 255

-Fast Response turning the knobs: to easily edit and cover  the  whole range of value in one turn of the encoder: 0 - 127

From my experience, i feel good using the "Relative  Mode" and the "Jump Mode" in the DSI Poly Evolver.

For explain i paste from the Poly Evolver Keyboard Manual Addendum:

The latest version of the Poly Evolver Keyboard operating system adds an item, PotMode, to the Global parameters that is not documented in the manual. (See page 18 of the Operation Manual for more information about the Global param- eters.)

PotMode: Relative (default), Passthru, Jump – On the latest version of the Poly Evolver Keyboard, many of the 78 front panel controls are potentiometers or “pots.†There are three pot modes to determine how the synth reacts when the related parameters are edited.

When set to Relative, changes are relative to the stored setting. In Relative mode, the full value range is not available until either the minimum or maximum value and the respective lower or upper limit of the pot’s travel is reached.

For example, the Resonance parameter has a value range of 0 to 127. Let’s say the physical position of the Resonance pot is the equivalent of a value of 100. If you switch to a program that has a stored Resonance setting of 63 and turn the pot all the way up, it will only go to 90. To get to the maximum value of 127, you first have to turn down until the value is at the other extreme and the pot

is at the limit of its travel (in this case, 0 and fully counter-clockwise, respec- tively).

In Passthru mode, turning the pot has no effect until after the edited value equals the preset value (that is, until the edited value “passes through†the stored value).

Jump mode uses an absolute value based upon the position of the pot when edited: turn a pot and the value jumps immediately from the stored value to the edited value. When set to Relative, changes are relative to the stored setting. In Relative mode, the full value range is not available until either the minimum or maximum value and the respective lower or upper limit of the pot’s travel is reached.

    i hope to be helpful

  2. You could try if it works better for you if you invert the "fast" function selected with the SHIFT button.

For this, open src/cs_menu.inc, search for

    btfss CS_MENU_MODE, CS_MENU_MODE_SHIFT_PRESSED

    replace "btfss" by "btfsc"

Thereafter build a new .hex file (see also the Wiki for more infos on the toolchain)

Alternatively it should also be possible to set a specific speed for the cutoff encoder in the CS_MENU_EncSpeedSet function if you prefer this (but I would have to test the code before providing it)

    Best Regards, Thorsten.

  3. Hey TK, thanx for the reply.

That SHIFT-thing sounds like a good solution. First I thought that holding down SHIFT would make the 1-15 value knobs go too fast, but I noticed they are not affected by holding SHIFT. Only the "long" values (0-255 etc) are affected by SHIFT. This is great news, so I will definitely try to edit that .inc-file and build a HEX-file so the MB will have the SHIFT activated by default. I let you know if I need any help doing that.

    Thanks again.

    Scifo

    Hello Scifo,

I have the same situation with CUT OFF of my MB....

Did you change something? If yes i am interested.

    Best Regards

  4. Hello Everybody,

As i think everybody here love music,

I would like to know, some songs  you know,

"famous" / "mainstream" songs done with Chip Sound....

except the ones Timbaland "did".....do it - nelly furtado   and   ayo technologies -50 cents feat justin timberlake

What he did bad: don't give any  royalties to the original composers: need pay the rights...

    maybe later...  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timbaland_plagiarism_controversy

but how he did ,merged the chip sound in the hip hop... he did good artistic choice

He sampled underground sound of the  80's, as  the most hip hop producers have sampled the  70's funky

Courious to know works of producers i never heard

Best Regards and Respect to Chip Sound

But i love that small black instruments Wilba did.

I would buy a MB-6582 Complete  and Working.

I am in the north of  Italy.
