  1. the 15V one has still eluded me, actually. I actually found one person who had one and they wanted about $50 euros. i just cant believe this sort of thing is hard to find on the internet. oh well, ill be fine. thanks anyway! ;]
  2. wow...is it really this hard? does nobody in europe use power supplies?! i cant find anything.
  3. Hello everyone. I am wondering if anybody knows a website where I can order power supplies I think you call them 'transformers'...in America we call them 'Wall warts' because they are so fat and stupid. Either way, I have moved to Praha, Czech Republic and I need to get a couple of these for some electronics I have. Which brings me to another question...is what I am doing feasible? The equipment I have came with powersupplies accepting US 120V current. If I replace with this correct output but for European plugs, will I be ok? Specifically I am after one DC 15V 500mA with one type of polarity [+C-](not sure how to read this symbol) and one DC 12V 1000mA with the opposite polarity [-C+]. Any help greatly appreciated!!!
  4. thank you raphael. i know the midibox world might have 'moved on' to the new platforms, but i just really wanna finish this now. thanks for helping an oldskooler out ;]
  5. hey guys. I started the midibox plus almost 2 years ago and am just now REALLY trying to finish it. My question is... I bought the PCB from mike's site. I see it matches up to this gif - http://www.ucapps.de/midibox/mplus_pcb_v1.gif If I follow this exactly, even though it it is somewhat different than the old schematic, will it all work?? ALSO, there are two boxes on there that I have no clue what they are. towards the bottom of the gif, right above the connection to the lcd screen...they seem to connect to three points and on the photo they look like two black boxes. what are these? THANKS!
  6. Hey yall, the diagram at 'http://www.ucapps.de/tmp/mplus_new_pcb.gif' has a part on it i have not heard of. it's a three pin piece at the bottom, right to the left of the 74h ic. has numbers 'BC33...' and i cant read the rest. anyone know what this is and what it's for? i started the midibox about a year and a half ago and am just now pickin it back up to finish after getting the new pcb. thanks alot! -jeff
  7. Im building the mb16 and using 8 faders and 8 pots. simple question...on the fader, i have four posts i could solder to. will i be using all four or ignoring one? if so, what is the scheme of how to wire as it related to the diagram? two posts are labeled as '2' and the other are '1' and '3' respectively...with a '2' on each side of the fader. thank you
  8. in that case...why? what is the difference?
  9. What is the difference between LED backlit and EL backlit LCDs? Is one better thant he other, i have read that the ELs have a limited lifetime. Main thing im concerned about is easy to read and easy to wire (as in follows the diagram closest). And one more, Im ordering the parts from eio.com, does my lcd for the MBplus16 have to these controller chips they keep mentioning? You have all already been so much help, thanks. 10. Thorsten i hate to keep bothering you but all these replies seem to confuse me further. I was using a different schematic for the power supply (the one that shows two different ways to build it). I dont see this 2200uf thingy on the ones i have and i dont see the commutator on the one you have. right now i have the power supply built with four diodes (some cris crossing each other) and a 470 and 33 cap (will put the 7805 in tomorrow). so am i doing this correctly? i would really hate to get the thing built and fry all the chips right away.
  11. Im building the midibox16+, having alot of fun doing it. In regards to the 7805 Voltage regulator...do i just solder wires directly to the posts on this thing? i cant squeeze them into the holes on my board (ive been using on eof those boards with conductive strips on side, very helpful!). Also, which is post 1 2 and 3 as labelled in the schematic? The crystal too...do i just solder wires directly to the posts? thanks yall [shadow=red,left,300]jeff[/shadow]
  12. Very new to all of this but the otehr day i finally started soldering some connections. My question comes upon deeper inspection of the power supply and having waited so long between ordering the parts and actually working... 1 - in the order list for the power supply it calls for a 2200uf cap, where is this on the power supply schematic? 2 - the commutator (sp?) on the first design, is that simply four (4) B40C800 diodes? These questions come because i have ended up with some pieces that i cannot find on the schematics and like i said, its been a few months since i got the parts. And for Thorsten, i mailed you my pic, has it by any chance gotten to you yet??? -[glow=red,2,300]-Jeff Cooper[/glow]
  13. Just because i dont want to assume anything and flub it up...are there any EXTRA parts I need to use a midi thru and for the midi out led? I realise I need an extra LED and an extra DIN receptacle...but anything else? Right now i have a pretty good part list based on Thorsten's orderlist...it appears to be much more up to date than the list from 2000 ;]. but never fear!!! My list is nearing completion and will be available once I get everything. Cheers yall. ???
