  1. I've got similar needs ::) (refer to topic about a Scizophrenic controller in this forum) but was aiming to solve it by mounting the MIDIbox in the foot controller chassis and teaming it with one of Throsten's earlier projects - a foot controller that let's you change patches! (It's under Old Projects on the sidebar of the main uCApps site). I have built a MIDIBox and gotten it driving my Line6 POD and Emagic Logic just fine - the challenge I have is to use the control surface with ~11 footswitches (already built!) to change between controlling the "floorboard patch control" project and the "MIDIBox 64" project! The MIDIBox will do everything I want except provide an elegant way to simply change patches! ;D Can anyone help with how to make a group of footswitches route their signal to the MIDIBox and then at the punch of a button route their signals to the floorboard project? ???
  2. I have used a MIDIBox before to change patches as well as control effects etc - it can store patch commands too BUT the issue is that it is very inefficient at changing patches! This is because if you are in patch 2 and need to jump to patch 63 and have a footswitch panel with 12 switches you would have to go through a whole lot of menus and bankstick memories to get to a command that would allow you to select 63 - not good when you're on your feet playing guitar! What I could do is use the Floorboard project that Throsten designed ages ago as it has a bank up and down with all the numbers - to get there you would punch UP to the 60's and then hit 3 - simple! So my issue is; 1. Has Thorsten designed bank up and down control with patch selection into one of these later MIDIBox projects (like in the floorboard project) OR 2. How can I have BOTH projects in the chassis and use a single footswitch to move the collection of controls between the 2 sets of circuitry .... I need a way to have a functioning MIDIBox (for all the cool control stuff of outboard gear etc) AND patch selection with bank up and down commands that can wait until you select the bank and number before sending (like in the floorboard project)!! Pete

  4. Simple really - I need a floor based controller that will; Aim 1. Control patch changes of effects / synths etc Aim 2. Allow me to execute all sorts of other messages/control of MIDI devices - with around 14 buttons (already got them mounted in a case and they are stomp style switches) and pedals (like MIDI expression pedals - these will be normal volume pedals that will get hacked to have pots that work with MIDIbox - needs to be interfaced into the foot controller housing and electronics) ??? You guessed it - I'm a guitarist ;D and I've only got my feet left to control the MIDIbox while performing!!! I know the old floorboard project will provide Aim 1 but here's what I don't know (being new and not a super electronics guy!) A) Which MIDIBox should I build as the engine to accomplish Aim 2? ??? B) How do I get both these separate electronic projects (different electronics etc) to share the same switches? I have thought maybe I could have a button that switches 'personality' without switching either unit on and off ... advice? Has this been solved already by someone? ??? C) Or is there a way to do all of this in a single existing project WITHOUT trying to combine 2! Appreciate the help! :D Pete New Zealand
