  1. thanx for the respons unhook everything is the first thing i tried, but no results. i've tried also the testtone application, i heard nothing, interconnection test was ok, So i thing the sid died. Everything else seems ok. greetz Jos
  2. you mean c1 and c2, no shorts, the sidbox has worked very well, untill i pushed some buttons simultaniously in de ledmatrix area, suddenly the sound was gone. is 9v dc on pin 27 of the sid an indication of something? cause normaly it must be around 5V dc I am already searching for another sid chip, because that's the only thing i could think of now
  3. i'm affraid too that i fried the SID, it has played very well for at least 10 hours, and with upload of banks it produces a short sound. pin SO and MO were shorted, and i measure 9vDC on the audio output pin of the sid.
  4. hello I've build an sid box v2, with mios 1.9 and the latest version of the sidbox software. After fixing some bugs, the sidbox was working very good. So i was happy, close the case and play. But after a few hours suddenly the sidbox is stopped making sound. I only uploaded patches, and pushed some buttons simultaniously in the mod area, maybe there is some kind of mute function??(which i don't assume)(i could not realy make out what these buttons are for) The rest seems to work ok. The first thing i tried was to program the software again, no result. Tried 4 different pic's, no result. Then searched the forum for a few days, read almost every article. I checked the pcb's, and yes i found one short on j10, fixed it, but no result. So I checked the pcb's again with magnifier glasses, looks ok. I checked also all the powerlines, the are all good. I also used the interconnection test, also ok. After i upload a soundbank, i can hear a sound from the sid, so i think the sid is ok. A few patches gives a tone like 1khz. I'm really desperate now, looking for the bug takes longer than building the sidbox. Is there somebody who could help me??? thanks and greets Jos
  5. hi thorsten update: i've installed the good versions of sdcc and gputils. and the make.bat works perfect! ;D The next problem is to get the skeleton filled with my needs, i like the asm layout, so i have a lot to learn. greetings joente
  6. hi thorsten Since this is a new direction for me, I would like to help you with your improvement, maybe it is useful to have some feedback from a "first-timer". i've tried alot of things to get it work. if i start the make.bat, it runs a dos window and returns to windows. In the explorer i see that the files makefile.bat and makefile are updated (if you look at the date). But it doesn't do what it must do. there comes no hex file. in the makefile.bat i see that there are some commands used as "sdcc, gpasm". i think it has something to do with the "sdcc", i don't realy understand what i must do with that downloaded files. I've surfed the forum for answers but couldn't find the right one. There is a lot of information in the readme files, but there are a lot of them, but not useful enough for me. Maybe is it useful for your documentation, to make a "stepperplan" for the compilation-part, especially how to use the different tools, such as perl, sdcc and gputils. For me (and i supose not only for me) this is a little vague ???. greetings Joente
  7. hai thorsten thanx for the reply, i,ve tried to program in c, but i can't compile the file. the make.bat doesn't do what it supose to do. I followed the steps as described on the site. I couldn't figure out how to handle the sdcc stuff in the right way. thanks for the effort, theremin works very nice already. greetings Joente
  8. thanks thorsten this does do the trick, it works great now. is there a tutorial for the programming ? It's not too hard to learn, the only thing is that i don't have the complete overview of the possibilities. But very interesting, you inspired me again. greetz joente
  9. I am using for now a orginal mb64 program. mios v1.8 i've made several external inputs, using ain. some of these inputs i want to use as a theremin (0V..5V), is there a way to assign values of 0..127 to notes c...c8. I want to play keyboard by using these inputs, theremin/pedal joente
  10. i want to play the keyboard with a "pot", is this possible?? Now i only can program a "pot" as pitchbender, or as single note. ??? Is there anyone who can help me? thanx joente, a happy midiboxer
