  1. I'll first see if i can get a normal MIDISEQ built and running, and maybe add a joystick later on, but i guess it'll need some programming, right ? and i'm afraid that's way out of my league. i've had a look at some of your code and decided that that won't be happening for me in this life.;-) but maybe someone else is also thinking of randomizing or morphing with a joystick, and IS a bit of a programmer, we'll see
  2. ok, i think i understand. so i can use tactile switches, and these have only one position (open position) and they make a contact when pressed, but return immediately to their original open position ?
  3. Waaw, i just looked at the thread...such a nice project, and quite a clever idea, just cutting up a plastic rod to make switches. Hallucinogen wrote that he used microswitches. What 'action' do these have / do they have a sort of on/off function, so they have two different settings/positions. (an OUT position and an pushed IN position), or do they remain always the same 'height' and just send a pulse to the software and does the software decide wether it is 'on' or 'off'. i hope i make nyself clear... sorry for my non-tech gibberish, but that's just the way i talk :P
  4. Hi, i saw a very nice MIDISEQ16 from halucinogen (i think his name was). i wonder wether it is easy to use these buttons, instead of the normal push buttons and a separate LED. Does anything have to be modified, or can they be installed rightaway ? dioes anybody know which type they are and where they can be ordered ? thx
  5. This is probably already suggested in some thread somewhere, but i thought i'd post it anyway. Using a joystick to control the MORPH function seems logical. Also, it would be really nice to use (abuse) it on the RANDOMIZE functions. i see great fun here... Is it possible to add such a joystick with the current boards ?
  6. thx for your reply, I'm doing as suggested: there is a welth of information on these pages and i first need to familiarize with all the terms used (remember, i'm new) anyway, I'm planning on buying a PIC with the bootstrap loader already on there, so i can upload/update via MIDI. I'm thinking of ordering some PCB's with Claudia's MIDI shop in germany. we'll see. i I already bought a new soldering iron and went down to the local electronica shop to see samee cases.
  7. Hi guys, I'm new to this forum i don't know exactly where to post this question, so here goes... i'm very intrigued by the MIDI SEQ 16 project,(especially the randomize functions) but i have never built an electronic device. I wonder, can the boards/parts/ be bought somewhere and just be assembled, you know, with a minimum amount of soldering, so i won't screw up by messing with single electronic components and maximize my chance on succes ? So i can concentrate on assembling everything in a 19 inch Rack and have it really work... thx ! jitterbug
