  1. i will try to be more clear if it's possible

i have a vectorboard with a couple of eproms

    mounted on it

one is supposed to be bankstick A, the other maybe one day will become the bankstick B

to upload the presets i'm using the midibox patchmanager

with the 8580 presets i don't have problem, the presets are already uploaded

in bankstick A, the other bankstick is like invisible when both are mounted.

i did a kind of experiment, i removed bankstick A and i tryed to upload the second presetsbank on my "i wanna be" bankstick B

this presetbank is read by the midibox patchmanager as bank C

so bank C is the source and bank B should be the destination(my second bankstick)

but when i start the upload the MBPM says the C & B are not available

so it's like to say that the id of the second bankstick is "wrong"

if i upload the C as source and A as destination looks like working

but when both banksticks are mounted is a bit messy to read the name of the presets

it's like a conflict beetween two bankstickA

if i try to select a bankstick from the CFG submenu from my midibox sidsynth

only A is available even if both banksticks are mounted

the connections on the bankstick board are ok, because if i move the eproms

from one socket to the other, the sid is able anyway to read them

but only when only one eprom is mounted

what i need is to find a way to "change the id" of the second bankstick

    or stuff like that...

    how can i do this?

is my explanation more clear now?

  2. i tryed with everything

now i'm using the tl's patch manager

but i'm not able to access to the second bankstick

i uploaded the 8580 bank in the first bankstick without problems

then i opened the second patchbank

and patch manager read this as bank C(?)

so when i try to upload the patches, first says the C is not available and then says that B is not available....

also the midibox is not able to read the bankstick B

    just says <no bankstick>

i'm sure that is not a problem with connections, but i don't know how to solve the problem....

  3. i guys

i tryed to upload the second patch bank in the second bankstick but the patch manager says that is not available

so i tryed to change the order of the roms on the board and everything is ok

i mean the connection, because the core is able to read both

if for example i try to re-upload the bank n1

i  have both roms with the same bank(?)

    how can i fix this?

  4. i tryed to re-upload mios but nothing...

and now the problem is double

because i was needing a slave core

so i tryed to change the id to another pic

but during the upload i got a strange message

and now i have the display that flash alternating

    "mios 1.9......"

    and some numbers like "700...."

    i don't know what happened...

today it's not my lucky day....

  5. thanx i'll try to re-upload mios and i'll let u know

in the while i fixed that thing with mplab, but i don't know how...

i deleted so many files that at the end is hard to say wich one was the cause of the conflict

    peace

  6. i guys i haqver also this problem

i was working with this pic that sudenly becamed sloooowww as hell

    the core module is ok

so i tryed to upload mios again but i get always this message

    did i fried my pic?

  7. hi guys

i'm re- trying to customize the setting for my lcd 2 x 16

    using mplab

so i create a new project and i copied all the sources files from the directory

    sid_v1_7303b

i did my change to asm file and i pressed f10

but i got this error message

    how can i solve this?

    what's wrong?

  8. ok, i removed the regulator

and i replaced it with a bridge, now i power my core from j2 like on schematics

but what about the rectifier? on my core v2 i have the rectifier

    and the voltage is 5,33v

on r4d i checked the pins on ic1 and ic2 sockets

and now i have 4,22v i need at least 1volt more...

are u shure that i also have to remove that rectifier?

i have to replace it with something or i have just to remove it?

    thanx guys 4 the help...

  9. so i have to replace the regulator with a bridge

    and use j2....perfect...

but from that schematic i also see that now the connection from core to sid j10

is 1:1, on the previous version was different if i'm not wrong

but at the time i was using  a v2 core and sid

i can do that using an r4d core and a v2 sid?

  10. my idea is to use this new core as a master for a sid synth

when i tryed to measure the voltage on the connections for ic1 and ic2

    i got 1.70v

so basicly if i use the regulator(on v2 i replaced it with a bridge)

    i have to use j2...right

or if i use j1 i have to remove rectifier and regulator?

just to know if i understood...

  11. so about the components mounted on my board

i just followed the map printed on it, so...if the print is right i did it right

and also the live map that is on the smashtv's site is pretty clear

i also tryed to check the voltage on another core module bought from mike

    and the voltage is 5v

so it's not a problem with my power supply (i use the original c64 transformer)

i'll try to measure the after the rectifier and the regulator

    in the while

    thanx

  12. hi guys

i bought i new core module from smashtv

    it's an R4d

and to me looks really differnt from the v.2 that i bought from mike

i have a question about the pcb

in the v.2 i was supposed to start soldering 4 or 5 bridges

but here i have a kind of map printed on the board

    with all the parts names

and doesn't says anything about those bridges

are they obsolete on this pcb?

    thanx

  13. i checked more or less everything

and it looks ok, i'll double check everything from the beginning

(it takes a lot for me to answer here because i don't have internet at home

so all the times: go home, check and bla bla bla)

the doubt is that with all that changing id  to the cores and

tryng to upload the mios again, both cores are giving me the same results

    with both lcds

and going back to the problem with that 1k pullup resistor

even if i changed it with a new one i still have that problem(my sid is slow)

even if the display doesnt show anything,

i can ear after a while the drop tune(really slow) and something that sound like formatting the bankstick(?)

    let me know

    thanx

there is the possibility that messing with the mios and the change id app.the two cores, i did the disaster

i also got a black out but not during the upload

to be shure that i don't have short in the pcb wich connection should i check exactly?

i checked the connection of the pic and the optocoupler

    ic1 pin 1 pin 12

    ic1 pin 11 pin 12

    ic1 pin 31 pin 32

    ic 2 pin 5 pin 8

and on both cores i got 5v

so what else should i check?

  14. ok guys

as usual i have some problems

my last post was a problem (apparently) with the 1k pull up r2

i removed the old one with a brand new one

but now i don't know what...

the lcd instead of the usual start up shows strange simbols or lines and nothing else

i tryed with another lcd but i got the same results

basicly all the problems started a while ago when i decided to upgrade my mono sid type c

    with a new module

(i bought both kits at mike's pcb shops)

so i updated one of the core with the new firmware, application

changed the id to the other one, firmware, application

    removed the optocoupler

    but together they never worked!!

(i also never solved the problem with mplab for my 16x2 lcd  ???)

then suddenly the problem with some midi out messages(1k pull up??)

and now i got this with the lcd

if i use mios studio i don't get any request of upload

should i buy the jdm module and reburn the bootloader inside the pic

and reprogram everything from the beginning or is something easier?

    let me know

  15. i started my sid with a bankstick connected

and it takes alot to load the mios and the sid app, then, the drop tune is slow and if i try to play some notes the volume goes up & down and the pitch change

the same happens if the bankstick is disconnected

    then i got other stuff...

i tried to reconnect the bankstick and the sid tries to reformat it

and the best of all is that it tries to do it even without the bankstick!!!

so if nobody was able to answer to my problems with MPLAB

i can imagine what will happen with this......no answers

so i gotta keep it like that??

    let me know

    thanx
